I've had em for going on 40 years now. They finally classified them as cluster headaches. The only thing that I've found that kinda works is Maxalt (rizatriptan) --- they dissolve on/under your tongue. When I feel one coming on, if I can pop a pill then, the effects are lessened.

My wife suffered from migraines and had a script for maxalt. She would be a little woozie after taking it but could function without pain. Her migraines disappeared after a couple years. We could never figure out the trigger or the reason they stopped.
Good luck figuring it out, they can suck!

Some women experience migraines associated with hormone fluctuations during their menstrual cycles. Sometimes they cease or go into remission after pregnancy and after menopause. True migraines are caused by vascular constriction in parts of the brain. A positive response to drugs such as sumatriptan, rizatriptan benzoate (Maxalt) etc is diagnostic. These drugs cause the release of serotonin stored in certain brain cells. The repeated use of these drugs without allowing re-accumulations of stored serotonin can result in ‘refractory’ migraines that are more difficult to treat. Drugs that specifically stimulate serotonin release may cause associated drowsiness. However, there is no euphoria, physical or mental impairment as caused by opioids or narcotics. The aftermath of a severe migraine may leave a person exhausted. It’s unfortunate that migraine medications are expensive.

Ah...retirement is great.

I should have done this decades ago.
@TerryMiller I can't wait to start mine. If it ever happens. lol
You will love it! You've already started in the mode with the lake house. When you look at your wife and ask what day is this, and both of you have to look at your phone to see what it is, you will be in full retirement mode. :hey3:

Here, but occasionally There.
I probably won't ever be able to retire but I still have to look at my phone quite often to see what day it is.

Way back in the '70's when I was driving 18-wheelers, we'd work every day but Sundays. The days seemed to all run together, and on one Sunday, I called into the office (we'd call collect) to get our next load assignment. The phone kept ringing, so I asked the operator, "Is this Sunday?" She answered yes and I told her to hang up. No one was at the office.

After that, I went and bought a watch that gives both the day of the month and the day of the week. So, I was way ahead of a bunch of you.

Who wears a watch?? That's what the phone is for!
