Unfortunately this sounds like most "builders" these days.

Many of them take shortcuts to save money on the build but still charge top dollar for the crap they sell.

I know of someone that has a two year old home that has had multiple problems since it was new and the builder has not been any help getting things repaired.

A woman I was doing a lot of remodel work for was looking at buying a home from a builder that was putting up several new homes in the country club area here. We would go look at the work being done at various stages on the houses after hours and found a lot of shoddy workmanship so I was able to steer her away from using them.

It is definitely a buyer beware situation when buying a "new" home just as any major purchase.

Repaint with a satin paint or higher level of paint. Run your fan during and after a shower. Looks like a nice home, but a room can only take so much moisture.

Had our appointment yesterday to water test the window....no leak was found but they are taking a "wait and see" approach before considering it fixed. The guys who actually do the work are trying their best and very apologetic they can't find the issue. Hopefully this resolves it.

The big dog didn't show up yesterday but rescheduled for today. I have a feeling it won't go well regarding the bathroom, but we shall see.

Sorry for the late response, i've not been on here since last week when I posted this and forgot all about it over the weekend.

I wonder if you live in the same neighborhood we live in? The nice thing about ours is that there are 7-8 builders currently building that you can choose from for this addition.
We went with Classic. Only a couple issues, none due to them, and they have fixed them right away. We efile our issue and usually get a call within 15 minutes and a visit by the next day.

We are in a very small neighborhood that is strictly built in by Shaw . I know I'm not the only one who has had these issues with them. I think they are just too big but don't want to expand and have to pay for more help.

10-4, I think I know where you are. We are at 101st and 225th. If you want to move, come out and check it out. Nice area, great folks and as previously mentioned, plenty of builders from which to choose.

Best of luck getting those issues corrected.

We almost built with Shaw four years ago. Luckily, they pissed me off before I signed a contract. My neighborhood is built probably 40-50% Shaw homes. There have been several complaining about them and not honoring their warranty or bullshitting the customer telling them it is normal. One of the biggest complaints is windows leaking. One of my neighbors had hard woods ruined by rain penetrating the front window. Shaw said it was because of the Oklahoma wind-driven rain and not covered under warranty; contact your insurance. Funny, it was maybe ten MPH winds that 'drove' it through the sills.

The wife works in home health and she hears many of her patients complaining of Shaw homes as well.

With all the complaints of my neighbors, I'm glad we didn't build with them. My builder went the extra mile and only charged cost for things (he said his profit is in the price of the house, not addons) with no change fees unless he had already ordered the items and had to pay the supply company a restocking fee.
