Listed as US Model of 1917, Winchester 30/06, Monte Carlo Stock.
My hopes were high until I saw the stock listed. My checkout anyway but not expecting anything but a bubba job.

Follow up ...... went to the auction. Only original parts were the action, bolt and trigger group. Someone, probably in the 1960’s, did a fairly nice job of sporterizing it. Appeared to have an older scope on it. Since it wasn’t what I wanted I passed.

At one time I had a nice collection of old sporterized rifles. Some were great, some I had to do a lot of work on to make them usable. Wish I still had most of them. There was a Jap carbine that the Chinese had converted to 7.62x39 and someone had fitted a laminated stock that had a lot of potential. Also a Colombian Mauser in 30.06 that was nice.
