If it was just slung or holstered, I have no problem with it. If he had a hand on it, it could be considered brandishing regardless of whether it was an AR pistol or a derringer. I believe it was OK for him to bear it. I can't think of a better way for John Q. and Mary J. Public to become accustomed to seeing arms being lawfully borne in public. Ya gotta start sometime! Ya gotta start somewhere! (Actually, it would be proper to say, "Restart.")

Back in the late 50's and early 60's, in MASSACHUSETTS no less, we carried our rifles around. We were kids ranging in age from 12 to mid teens. Those of us less than 14 eagerly awaited turning 14 so we could go hunting with a license (Younger than 14 didn't need a hunting license.). It was like wearing a badge! And, it wasn't necessarily hunting season. We practiced.

What a nutcase. "The foregrip that's the farthest most highest that you would call the buttstock"...What?? Just say it's technically a stabilizer and not a stock. No need to confuse yourself and the cops.- I hope his mom sees this video and makes him shape up or move out of her house.

Those guys are all over the net. They are trolling trying to get cops to bite. Normally though its younger kids that are don't realize how dangerous what they are doing is. My questions did anyone clear that pistol? Looks like the cop sweeps they guy on his left at 2:15

Also best comment I saw on the youtube video ( Spencer Nelson "This is my rifle. It identifies as a pistol. You need to address it as a pistol")

The guy was having trouble with the correct lingo a few times. Around 8mins in the video he was bragging how he had been in another park just the other day carrying that rifle. He mostly called it a pistol and we all know that's what he meant but if he's thinking he's an educator, he needs to speak wisely.

I agree. Nothing wrong with this if the LOEs were to see this daily from non violet citizens, such as this guy, simply walking with a rifle hanging like that, it would become common place and draw no reaction at all.
He's not a nut case unless your just paranoid and like to biotch

Dumbass idiot whose actions harm the very cause he is proclaiming to defend. Freaking out the general public simply to make a point is irresponsible and stupid. I had the same reaction to the Walmart walk people that dressed out in tactical gear and thigh holsters just to elicit a reaction from the public when open carry was passed.

The general public, especially in other states, have been conditioned to fear guns. This type of behavior fuels those fears.

It would draw no reaction at all? Soooo, what you're saying is that LEO will get educated and then they'll educate dispatchers and then Dispatchers will educate the folks reporting this and tell the caller that there is no need to call unless you see an active shooter? I believe the guy is within his rights but I don't see how this method of teaching works out positively.

I'm guessing your younger than me. As stated above, this used to be a very common thing to see.l I didnt own an AR but I did carry a riffle around sometimes. I was always in route to somewhere to go shoot but I walked long distances sometimes or road a bicycle because I was 14 and didnt drive yet. No one EVER saw me and freaked out and called any LOEs. It was common and it can be again.

Its one thing to open carry a pistol in Wal-Mart or wherever. Its the guys that go around with rifles or other things trying to elicit a response.

This guy on the other hand ups the ante as he is was walking such a fine line with this AR-Pistol that you can see why people would freak out. If I have my kids at the park and see tacticool timmy walking around with his AR-Pistol I am not waiting around to see if his intentions are good or bad.
