This guy is a 2A activist and follows the terms of the law to see how law enforcement reacts. He had an AR "style" rifle and a holstered handgun, and refused orders by police. They used pepperballs (?) to subdue him after someone complained that he had pointed the rifle at them. He was doing this at a popular park. That's the gist of the article.

He's also got a youtube channel called "picture perfect" where he goes around doing "'audits' of various locations testing officials’ compliance with their understanding of their First and Second Amendment rights."

Interesting. I'd never heard of him, but it seems like he's asking for trouble with an AR at a public park. Other than that, more power to him.

I thought this was interesting: "Under the conditions of his release, Hubbard was mandated to relinquish all firearms and ammunition to law enforcement until the conclusion of the case."

I picture the guy with some pricey collectibles, the police coming in and throwing everything into a burlap bag, and throwing all of it into an evidence locker.

Good. Even though I hate to see nice firearms damaged he deserves it. He is not a 2A activist. He is an attention whore who only does this because he didn't get enough attention from his mommy and daddy. Real 2A activists look to ease public tensions and educate them without fear. Going into a park with the sole intention of drawing police to "test" their reaction is idiotic and counter productive. Its like going to a crowded place and yelling "FIRE!" as a way to enforce 1st amendment rights.

Had he done something different, like setup a table with an AR pistol on it and signs saying he is there to talk to people about firearms and their legality, yeah I would support that. At least it lets the public know what his intentions are.

I agree. Attention whore. There are WAY better ways to do things.

And guess what, Attention Whore, now you have to serve up all your firearms and ammo until you can prove your innocence.

Welcome to Amerika 2020, baby. Only going to get worse, especially with idiots continually looking to push people.

He doesn’t have to prove his innocence, the state has to prove his guilt.

I understand that point of audits in all aspects of government and municipality jobs, but I doubt this guy has the credentials, education, and mostly common sense to hold those audits. Agree attention whore, who just wants more traffic on his YouTube page. Personally I think it’s stupid to walk around a park of any kind with a “pistol” that you know will draw attention. The common person can’t tell if that’s a real pistol or a rifle, most don’t care. They don’t want some idiot walking around a park with a rifle with their kids playing. I hope they throw the book at this guy and he loses his rights to have a gun.

I am aware that is the requirement - however, in practice in the United States today, it often works out the other way. That was the point of my statement - the irony. When you act out in moronic ways like he did, your presumption of guilt is foremost.

If you bring a long gun to a public park or a restaurant like in TX you're a *********. He can call himself a 2A auditor all he wants but he has no authority to audit anything.

Technically it was an AR style pistol... That isn't legal to carry under the Oklahoma Self Defense act do to its overall length. I'd say BA LEOs used quite a bit of restraint.

These A$$clowns claiming to be 2A advocates don't represent me! PERIOD!
