Some side effects...

facial swelling
itchiness
hives
diarrhea
vomiting
seizures
shock
pale gums
cold limbs
and coma

isn't that like 90% of the "medicines" prescribed today ? On the rare occasion I've had to take some meds the side effects scare me more than what I'm suffering from..

The fact that thousands of people have developed popcorn lung from vaping has nothing to do with it I am sure. Seriously that is like saying they do not want to legalize weed because it cures cancer. Not true, there is no REAL evidence it cures anything but some that it helps with some symptoms.

No one, and I mean NO ONE, has developed popcorn lung from vaping. There is more dicetyl in cigarette smoke than even the strongest butter flavored eliquid and not a single smoker has ever developed popcorn lung from smoking. The ONLY people who have ever developed popcorn lung worked in a popcorn factory and were exposed to dicetyl in amounts over 20K PPM. The strongest eliquid was less than 350 ppm and cigarette smoke is around 740 ppm. So please, don't try to throw bs about vaping towards me, I'm way to educated on it.

And if you think the ALA is against vaping because its bad, go look at who are some of their biggest sponsors. Then look at what products they produce. Little hint, they are pharmaceutical companies that make drugs related to lung disease from smoking.

*edit* Not to mention the fact that dicetyl has been practically cut out of eliquid use for the past 4 years.

I asked my Dr about that one time after watching some med being advertised on TV. The amount of side effects listed was incredible. I'd be scared to take it, but my Doc explained that during the clinical trials that may go on for years, all the folks taking the medicine may come up with side illnesses that may or may not have been an actual side effect of the medicine they are taking, and they just list them vs actually trying to make a connection.
Then if you actually get one of the side effects they can say they told you so?
I take a med that has to potential to damage the liver, and take blood tests every 6 months through the VA to verify no damage. The DR told me that since I've been on it for so long, the likelihood of any side effects will probably never happen, but they test anyway to stay on top of it.

You can try to split hairs all you want but I know several doctors and RNs worried about it. If I owned a vape shop right now I would either be trying to sell it, or looking for the best insurance I can find because the lawsuits will start flying with the first person diagnosed.

I'm not splitting hairs with you brother, just stating facts. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I support that. But the opinions of dr's, rn's, and even my forum buddy RickN are worthless without proven facts. That's just how the process of obtaining accurate information works. I'm not asking or expect you to eat crow my friend, I'm just asking that you don't state opinion as fact. That is the definition of fake news, and your leader would be disappointed in it.

I have no leader unless you count the boss but she just went to bed. I did spend over 20 years in and around the medical profession and can say that it is very rare for that many doctors and nurses to be worried about something without cause.

Because, like you, they read exactly what the report wanted you to read and didn't read the actual data. The report you are talking about (and I discussed this with many doctors as well) had the title "Popular ecig flavorings may impair lung function". They also followed up with "the chemical diacetyl, which is linked to popcorn lung disease, is found in many popular ecig flavorings". By those two lines millions claimed, just as you did, that vaping causes popcorn lung. Had you, and those doctors, nurses, general public had actually read the study you would have found that the amount of diacetyl found was way under the exposure experienced by smokers. And if you had done due diligence and looked up popcorn lung you would have found the only people who have been diagnosed with this disease were factory workers that were around artificial butter flavorings for microwave popcorn. The amount of diacetyl they breathed in was vastly more than even in cigarette smoke.

Its articles like this that scare the general public and are used to sway the unknowing against vaping. Look at how many articles like that are used by the gun grabbers. Stop, think and study. Every single study that has been produced that painted ecigs in a bad light as been blasted in peer review or proven to have been done incorrectly. For instance the formaldehyde scare. That study said ecigs produced 10x the amount vs smoking. Once reviewed it was shown the researchers were using the ecig equipment wrong and were burning the silica wicks, which produced the formaldehyde. Even in the study, when used correctly, the ecig produced 0 traceable amounts of formaldehyde.

Is it no wonder that Public Health England, the same body that warned us smoking was bad 20 years before the surgeon general did, has stated that vaping is at least 95% safer than smoking? So why are there so many articles in the US saying its not? Follow the money trail. It always leads back to big pharmaceutical companies. Smokers are their cash cows. Between their ineffective stop smoking aids (don't even get me started on Chantix) to COPD, emphysema, and cancer, they make way too much money on smokers to allow vaping to wipe them out.

And if you think the FDA is this innocent body looking out for us common people, go google FDA approved additives to cigarettes. Its a pretty long list and several are known cancer causing chemicals. Remember, the FDA approved these additives.

Sorry but I did read the whole study, so did the doctors and nurses including my RN charge nurse sister. There are all these claims of big pharma not trying to cure cancer and others, but new cures for different things are found all the time. I have 3 cancer survivors in my family to prove it.
