I have it down to three scope I want to buy from low to middle to high. I can't see spending more than 50 bucks. I should have a good sales bonus coming up and want to use that for a scope and a trigger spring kit from mcarbo.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Barska-22-Riflescope-3-9x32MM/900214641 I took it out of the box and looked through it in the store, was nice clear a big difference over tasco I have now. I zoomed in and tried to focus it but couldn't figure it out, but was still nice.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Simmons-22-Mag-Rifle-Scope-3-9X32-Truplex-w-Rings-Box-Matte/6340061 one like this but don't think it has a zoom think its a fixed scope but can't find it, think its a 4x32 runs about 40 bucks. Also looked through this one and was nice, clear
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Simmons-Protarget-3-9-X-40mm-30MM-Tube-Riflescope/430334519 This is the one I want, could not look through it, sealed blister pack, but looking it over seems like a good buy and be good for what I want and for what I will be shooting around here with it.

Later on as I get better with using a scope this is a first for me, I can step up but from what I have read for .22 don't really need to as out past 100 yards the fall rate and power of the bullet drop. I also want it last as no telling when I get a better one, not lose zero that easy that barska has me worried, but if this cheap tasco hasn't lost zero yet, its been bumped, taken off a few times and still shoots right on, just wish it was bigger and not a 3/4 inch tube and a 20.

What are you guys thoughts? Have ya'll used any of these 3 and had luck with them. My eyes are not that great anymore, I can't see small things up close and can't see far away it gets blurry, so need a scope I lose sight of my sights they go blurry when I try to sight it.

Keep in mind the warranty that some scope brands have nowadays. It's hard to beat more clarity and unconditional no questions asked lifetime warranties for not that much more money when all is considered. Just my opinion.

I'm not going to recommend any of those walmart scopes.
I sympathize with you being new to the shooting sports, but offer the advice to buy once, and cry once vs buying cheap, and not getting what you're looking for with the aging eyesight.
You can buy a bottom of the line Nikon or Vortex and get a lifetime no question warranty and that scope or its warranty replacement will last the rest of your life and have much better clarity than any of the scopes your looking at.
Natchez.com offers some really good prices on refurbished scopes that in my opinion are better than the ones coming off the assembly line because they have had a human that knows what they are looking for to get them set up right for resale.
Also understand budget considerations may come into play, but even if you have to put off buying one for a couple of months, I'd consider doing so to get some better glass.

I have used the Simmons 3-9's on a few 22's and can say I like them for what they are. But, they will break eventually and you can buy another.

I have never used the Barska scopes, so I cannot comment on them.

In the end it is your money, your shooting experience, and your time. If this is a learning curve for you and you are happy with it then I say great, get it. If you can see you need more then don't settle. But, for 50 yard shots I always loved these on cheap 22 rifles.

Oh, and my wife has the BSA Sweet 22, love it also, and it is in the same price range over at Academy.

Ok I will keep those in mind and look them up. From what i have read the simmons mag 22 had good reviews. Yes I am shooting a 22, doubtful will be long range 100 yards would be pushing my limit. This tasco is ok does it job just wish it was bigger like a 40 to be able to see through it easier. I did look through the barksa and mag 22 liked what I saw in both. If I did happen to get one of these 3 and they lasted me a few years I would be happy with it. But look at those others, Nikon and Bushnell trophy were in good standing and think one of the vortexes was as well.

Check Amazon, there are a ton of scopes on there in your price range. Make sure you read the reviews. I purchased several with great reviews (not really expecting much) but they have worked out great.

I have looked on there quickly but that was after reading about most are knock offs or copies and are complete junk but may give another look and go deeper into them.

I agree the cheaper scopes will break. I have an older simmions that was on a cheap 22 that will not adjust sitting in a box. Sure it has a lifetime warranty but most folks say it takes forever for the to repair. Not to mention its not worth paying the shipping to me.

You can find Nikon Rimfire onsale now and the clarity is night and day vs the scopes you are looking at. Also nicer glass can always be moved to a nicer rifle and can usually be sold pretty easy. The cheaper stuff might as well throw or give it away if you dont like it.

I'm currently using this scope on a S&W M&P15-22. The optics are almost as clear as something in the $300 range, but it's just $29.99! It zeroed nicely and I've not had a bit of trouble out of it. Good luck on your decision!
