Certain vaccines were developed using aborted-fetal stem cells. My family does not oppose the use of vaccines in principle, but we believe they need to be developed using ethical means. We are pro-life and do not believe we should use a vaccine that has been developed using aborted fetal stem cells.

I can't speak for other families, but this is why we oppose them. It does piss me off though to hear the mainstream media villainize those who choose not to vaccinate, whatever their personal reasons are.

I'm pro-life too. But I'm also a hunter. I hate seeing useful bits go to waste. I also think that cannibalism would solve both world hunger and overpopulation. It's a travesty it eating human causes fellow humans to go mad.

You do realize those cells were collected in the 1960's from two aborted pregnancies and are continued to be grown without the use of any other fetuses right? Chickenpox and rubella are both highly contagious diseases. And though neither are fatal to children, rubella can cause serious birth defects if a pregnant woman contracts it and chickenpox can lead to shingles later in life. Refusing those vaccinations on a pro-life stance just allows yourself and your children to become susceptible to preventable diseases.

The website i linked to in my original post mentions the two aborted pregnancies from the 1960s, so yes i am aware of it. As i said in my original post, i am opposed to vaccines developed using aborted fetal tissue. It doesnt matter if it was last week or 50 years ago. Not only is abortion unethical, but those fetuses did not give consent for their tissue to be used in scientific research.

You dont have to agree with it - i am just stating our reasons for opposing certain vaccines. The media would have you believe "anti-vaxxers" are opposed to all vaccines, and that isnt the truth. Im sure other people have their own reasons, and thats their right.

So, you don't want to use the vaccine. Fine.

Just keep your children out of the public. Completely.

Say one if you children contracts whatever disease the vaccine would have prevented. Then, your kid infects another child (or 10 more). That child , infected by your kid, dies.

Who is responsible ? Are you not directly responsible for that death ? Because you didn't take reasonable steps, a child died.

Perhaps whatever disease the vaccine could have prevented doesn't cause death. Perhaps that disease causes sterility.
Because you didn't vaccinate your child, another person is sterile. Who knows how many lives didn't come about because of your stance.

Still comfortable with that ?

I’m for informed consent (as all healthcare providers and authorities should be, but unfortunately coercion rules in this topic). Many people have many good reasons for refusing certain vaccines, but if someone’s reasons are stupid, it’s still their decision to make for themselves and their children. Vaccines are not without risks, and people offer blanket assurances that the benefits outweigh the risks, but that’s for everyone to decide for themselves based on their own risk tolerances.

I think objecting to the use of fetal stem cells is a perfectly valid reason for avoiding certain vaccines, as long as you’re aware of the risks of doing so.

This might begin to approach being a decent argument if vaccines were risk-free. As it is, the potential risks are underplayed, to put it mildly.

I oppose those who put the vast majority of our population in serious jeopardy because they selfishly think only of one philosophic spec of right vs sanity! I promise you there is NO ONE on this site more against abortion and all it stands for than yours truly. I however am also sane enough to now My Lord will hold me accountable for such fullishness . He expects me to love others enough and their welfare to not play games with their lives so I can force society to say look at me , I am doing your work because I've decided I'm right about this

What is the “serious jeopardy,” specifically?
