Tania, you built a nice looking rifle. I admire you taking on a project like this for the first time, almost totally on your own.

Guys, I don't mean this in a negative way, but what is the attraction of a binary trigger? From seeing what they cost, and the cost of ammo, it seems like it might be more convenient to just go out in the yard every week and set fire to a few twenties! Again, I'm not criticizing because I do plenty of things that probably seem like a waste to a lot of you, I'm just courious.

It's called the fun factor, some will pay $300-400 to take an exotic car for a few laps, some will put big $ into a big a$$ 4x4, etc etc.. Cuz it puts a smile on your face.. And if we ever encounter Zombies it'll make short work of a herd.. ;-)

But sometimes you gotta pay a bit more to have more fun. Ask any hooker, she'll say the same thing :D

Rifle looks good man.

Thank you. Learned a lot, and still more to learn. Probably going to replace the punch kit I bought (at least the punches) as they seemed to mushroom the roll pins and will probably get the bev block ( I know, I know, you guys told me and I didn't listen) before my next build. Probably going to be a few weeks before I can break it in. But, I can now say, I have a unique firearm that is my concept and built by me.

Final update. Finally got to the range today (between trips and this monsoon season we called May I wasn't able to go) and tested my rifle. At first it would not cycle .223 rounds. Would eject but wouldn't lock back on empty or pull a new round in. Switched to 5.56 and it cycled those just fine. Dialed down the gas block a bit but got impatient to test the Echo trigger. It worked, and it worked well! Its a learning curve to get a string going but when you do, man its fun! Here is a short video of about the 3rd mag I tried in echo mode.

I also sighted in my red dot but not my 45 degree offset sights. Didn't put much through it today, about 180ish rounds. Funny thing is after about 4 mags through it I could run .223. Didn't run too much, just about 5 rounds to see if it would cycle on semi-auto. Next weekend I intend to tweak the gas block a little more and play around with the different ammo. Will try to get my iron sights dialed in after all that fun.
