More NRA infighting with a mention of Oklahoma's own Dan Boren. This ongoing turmoil will have significant negative repercussions for the NRA as far as financial and membership support.

The portion mentioning Boren has to do with the attempted coup to oust Wayne LaPierre, the NRA's organizational leader:

"Oliver North was aided in his efforts against LaPierre by NRA board member Dan Boren, a former congressman who’s now a top executive for Chickasaw Nation, a major Ackerman McQueen client, according to the NRA complaint filed on Wednesday. Boren “helped to choreograph the ultimatum they presented to Mr. LaPierre,” it said.

In emails obtained by the NRA, Boren “admitted his knowledge that Ackerman may have been invoicing the NRA for full salaries of employees who were actually working on the Chickasaw Nation account.” Those emails also show that Cox was an “errant fiduciary” who “participated in the Ackerman/North/Boren conspiracy,” the NRA claims."

I think a successful Coup would actually help the NRA. Get it back on track with the wishes of their members. I actually think they should have a 4 year max tenure for the top dogs so they don't get entrenched in their positions and be taken over by lobbyist and special interests. No re-election, a clean sweep every four years that would be staggered to maintain the flow of business.

LaPierre is purging the leadership of anyone not supporting him.

Just as any dictator will do.

He is solidifying his hold, and his friends will be rewarded. His enemies will be punished.

I, too, am through with giving anything to the NRA untill LaPierre is gone.

yeah, and hate to see the friking e-mails asking for donations. I won't give them a dime. NRA is not what use to be. Like DJT says drain the swamp.

While they're at it, the board needs to be trimmed too. Cut it back to 15-20 members. It's so big now, it almost seems designed to be a support system and fire wall for a dictator.
