Does anyone know a shop that repairs sunroofs? Not a leak but a failure of the open/closing function from an apparent broken track piece. I cant seem to find anything local.
I've learned that this year model of F-150 and a few previous years, had an issue with the track failure.
I did find a you tube video on how to repair these on this year model and it looks like a simple task actually but they all look simple until you get into it too far to turn back lol. And I cant have a leaking window up above my headliner and leather seats...back combination.
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I got the window off looking for a broken plastic piece as per instructions on the you tube video I watched and I don't see anything broke so now I'm really scratching my head.
I wonder if the alignment of the window got off and there is a way to adjust that?

I fixed one on a 2003 Expedition that had some sort of faulty mechanism/sensor in the back of it that sensed when the sunroof was fully open or closed that would cut off power to the motor. I just bypassed it and was careful not to open it too far or hold it down too long when it closed. I had to drop the headliner to get access to it.

Yeah either a bodyshop or a window shop that deals with cars would be my best guess. Could always go onto car-parts.com and get a new one as well. If they guarantee it works probably not a bad swap.

I know my neighbors daughters Ford had a sunroof issue. There was some procedure he had to do to get it to reprogram itself. He found it on youtbue/google. He did that and no issues since. Not sure if your truck has a process like that? As has been said you may try a glass shop.

Thanks for the replies. I worked on it for 3 hours and found 2 pieces that were broken...plastic slide items and the only way to fix it is to replace the entire track assembly so I took it to a body shop I like to do business with and they told me that track was $1,100 new but they found one from a salvage dealer for $500 and they want $400 for labor and I said do it. lol
I hate to spend the coin but I am not physically able to remove that headliner and spend a day crawling around inside that crew-cab working over my head. I cant see worth a damn so that's an issue also.
Kinda wishin I hadn't dropped $500 an a new Tattoo last Monday now lol.
