Thanks guys I thought I could finish tonight and post a picture of it done but it didn’t work out tonight
You gonna drag this out forever or?????? Cmon man, what'd ya do...sleep lastnight??
Reminds me of @bigred1 procrastinating when he lost a tree in an ice storm last winter. I think he left it lay there for almost an entire day so the ice would melt off and he could buck it into manageable pieces. Sheeesh

Lol well it was 116 degree heat index yesterday and as you know I’m a welder in a shop and it was around 120 degrees actual temperature so when I got in the truck and made the 45 minute drive home in the a/c I went in the room grabbed a cold one out of the icebox sat down in my recliner and that’s as far as I went till about 8 and I put up a couple more rows and went inside and was sound asleep by 9:25

I stepped outside yesterday when it was about 100 degrees to see if the lawn needed mowing, turned around and went back in and had to take another nap.

Yeah, I'm not much of an ice sculpturer. All in all a good solid performance once I got started though.

I know I had a few that were hard as hell to get a screw though I don’t think they are pine probably walnut and they are darker

Oak is pretty hard stuff, if you cut it smell it oak will have a earthy woody pungent smell, pine smell it you know its pine. Oak its best to predrill a pilot whole or it will split. I can say oak holds nails very well too. I tore up one of my homemade pallet busters when it bent trying to pull a oak pallet apart, its also very unforgiving letting nails go out of the runners as well, but in the end once cleaned up planed or sanded oak is beautiful wood, the grain pattern is really nice.
