I know this thread is old but I wanted to post an update. I was able to set up a bridge between my parents house and mine so I have had good internet since August. I couldn’t have done it without the help of Nightshade. He is great. I ran into a supervisor for Vyve a few months back and told him about my addition. He took my name and number down and said he would come out and do a build estimate. Well I received a call from him yesterday and he told me corporate approved construction in my addition!!! He spoke with the crew and they are finishing up with an install north of Shawnee and then they are starting mine!!! Said it would be either next week or the week after. I can’t believe it. I am thankful I have had the bridge for the past few months though. It sure made things better. He said the estimate was about $25,000 to put in the lines if anyone was curious. The guy from Vyve is a great guy I can tell you that. He did exactly what he said he would. That is hard to find these days.

Just wanted to give an update that I finally after 2.5 years have Vyve!! They came out to hook me up yesterday. I’m getting 200Mbps down!!! A huge thanks to @NightShade for setting up my bridges between my parents and I. I was able to have good internet for free for about a year. Anyways, just wanted to share my happy news.

If ya had free why on earth would ya want to switch ? When we moved out here Vyve said we could get hooked up, well come to find out we were a 1/4 mile past the termination point.. Suddenlink has be advertising a package for like $56 for life that I need to look into, our current price of $77 is fixed for life so if suddenlink doesn't reach I guess we'll stay were we're at..

Great deal. You can keep the bridge up and use it for cameras and sharing other stuff or take it down now. If you plan on selling stuff let me know I may be able to use it somewhere.

I was limited in the speed I could get. Plus if my dads electricity goes out so does my internet. I am on the same grid so we go out at the same time but I have a generator and he don’t. I just talked with the Vyve guy and he said they made a huge mistake and sent out over something like 10,000+ mailers that said people were eligible when they weren’t. A lot of people got pretty mad at that. I can imagine.

We have the same problem. To make it worse they keep telling us we are within the service area. We keep inviting them out to see and we keep ending up exactly right next door to the last customer on their service.

So inquiring minds need to know how upset your neighborhood dictator was. Hopefully he was :pissed:
Well he will be real upset when he goes to get service and finds out he is “unserviceable “. Lol. The Vyve supervisor told me they are making it where he can’t get service if he tries. He tried to get all mad and tell the Vyve VP that they weren’t coming in to install to which the VP said “you can’t do a dang thing to stop it”. Little did the dictator know that one of the Vyve techs is a reserve deputy. When they came to Start the install nothing was said. But when they started coming to the back where I live that’s when the dictator got his friends across and next to him to go ape. They tried and I got to witness it all go down. They tried to come out and get into it with the Vyve crew. The reserve deputy was there. One of the dictators buddies called the sheriffs not knowing a deputy was already there! Lol. It didn’t work out the way they thought. The woman deputy that came out told the two neighbors that are the presidents buddies that they couldn’t do a dang thing to stop it and if they tried they would be breaking the law. These neighbors had put up “no trespassing signs “ in their yards thinking that would stop them. The cop also told them to remove those signs because they weren’t trespassing as they were in the easement. The HOA president never even came out of his house. He hid in there in defeat. The guy is nothing but a coward. He talks a big game on the phone but is gutless in person. As he has been that way with me. When he stood face to face with me he didn’t say squat. He was as nice as could be. It was truly a great thing to witness watching these people make fools of themselves for nothing. The president now knows he is powerless. I’m not the type to let stuff go that easy. And even better is all the neighbors that he lied to get to see the real him. If they didn’t already know.
