Is the power plant made of hemp? I bet it is! That's pretty cool.

Exactly my first thought. It it's 10 times stronger than steel, why the hell not?

So if it crashes that will add a whole new meaning to "Up in smoke" now won't it.
"Dave? Dave's not home" "No man it's Dave open up!" " Dave's not home man."

I heard that Tommy Chong has volunteered to be the test pilot.

That's a really tragic end to this thread. I was just sure 100% hemp flying machines were out there.
We were only allowed to dream for a little while, but it was a great dream and the dream survives and by golly it'll come true someday.

I have been wanting to get really high but I don't want to get caught up in one of those " hemp plane and fuel oil" scams!

The difference is potential energy. Yes, they make ethanol, but it doesn't produce the same energy as gasoline, that's why it's cheaper than 100% gas. You can't go as far on it.

The real practicality of hemp oil might be the affordability vs similar energy density to diesel. If only they can solve the oxidation issue as it doesn't have a long storage life like diesel.

From what I've read oxidation isn't a problem when anti-oxidants are added. Plus the fact that the whole plant can be used to make fuel, the seeds can be made into bio-diesel, the rest of the plant can be used to make ethanol and methanol. Not to mention that hemp can clean up soil that is contaminated from a variety of stuff from pesticides, fertilizers, oil contamination even radiation. And hemp absorbs twice as much CO2 as trees do.

Honestly, hemp is about the greenest fuel source out there, and its not been researched enough to achieve its max potential.

You have to compare it to bamboo. Clothing made from hemp is rough and uncomfortable, Bamboo is soft and pliable. Lots of benefits for both. Neither has the title as top weed for everything. We spent the summer in the San Juan Valley in Colorado in the RV. Hemp was a big crop but relied on irrigation to sustain it with an average of 9" rain per year. It's a high country desert.

Coors Brewing Company grows a majority percentage of their barley in that valley as well.
