Wouldn't filling it out with one answer today and a different answer in a few years cause just a little bit of confusion and set a precedence for incorrectly filling out a 4473?

Seems like the wording/format of the 4473s have changed every year or two up until now anyway. I think that confusion and the resulting mistakes that are created by the confusion is a major factor in the ATF’s game plan.

Someone is awful stupid within our government to put out this form, as far as I'm concerned they can send all the binary, trinary and people who can't read a birth certificate to the front lines and settle the issue. Who in the heck are they going to call when there is a war, men, women or whatnots?

The proposed changes are certainly an improvement over the current confusing situation. There are states that issue non-binary D/Ls (not sure whether OK does or does not) if you are not aware of that fact.

You brought up a heck of a point. What happens with selective service registration?

It's definitely changed at least a couple of times since 2015 or so I believe.
