My older brother and I began the taking of dad's firearms unfortunately.
This is one I had no idea he had and I'm very happy to keep this for dad.
Still have a 1930s Browning 16gasemi auto, a Winchester model 12 pump that I shot many quail and pheasant with at about 17, a Browning A bolt 30-06 (buts it's a left hand bolt so?) And a cheap Marlin bolt .22 with a scope but it's a tack driver on squirrel heads.
Pics of those to come, them Brownings are sexy as hell I think.
This is his S&W .357. I don't know what model because I can't find it anywhere. Would that be stamped under the grip?

It's usually under the yoke in front of the cylinder. It looks like you can see some stamped numbers there in your second pic maybe?

As noted above, it'll be on the frame, under the crane, and will be a 2-digit or 3-digit number starting with a 6 (unless they've changed it recently, S&W stainless wheelgun model numbers start with a 6). I'd guess it's a Model 66 variant, but if you placed a big enough order S&W would make 'em how you wanted 'em, so you never can tell...

Very nice 66, Clay. I imagine the round count is very low. Take a few hundred rounds of 38 to the range and enjoy. Finish the trip off with half a box of 357 for giggles.
