Working on an indie budget, he assembled A-List actors to play the veterans – Peter Fonda, in what turned out to be in last movie; Ed Harris; William Hurt; and Samuel L. Jackson, among others.

Peter Fonda: The United States Secret Service has been alerted in response to a tweet by actor Peter Fonda, who said Barron Trump -- President Donald Trump's youngest son -- should be separated from his mother and put "in a cage with pedophiles."

"We should rip Barron Trump from his mother's arms and put him in a cage with pedophiles and see if mother will will stand up against the giant a--hole she is married to. 90 million people in the streets on the same weekend in the country. F---," Fonda wrote in a tweet, which has since been deleted.
First lady Melania Trump's communications director, Stephanie Grisham, called the tweet "sick and irresponsible," adding that the Secret Service has been notified. A Secret Service spokesman said the agency is aware of the tweet but declined to comment, citing the agency's practice of not speaking about protective matters.

Ed Harris: ‘Yes. Obviously rural America was responsible in a large part for electing Donald Trump as our president. Just how much of a travesty that will be remains to be seen. He got himself elected by persuading a lot of people who really had no reason to vote for him by spouting the kind of rhetoric that he did. And the people who are most likely to be hurt by his presidency are the very people who voted for him. It’s like that Bob Dylan song, “Only a Pawn in Their Game”. A lot of pawns voted for Mr Trump.’
(my comments) He is calling us in the bread basket of the US stupid.

William Hurt:
In her 2010 memoir I’ll Scream Later, the actress describes the two years she spent with Hurt in vivid, disturbing detail, outlining a pattern of physical and emotional abuse.

On what ought to have been one of the happiest nights of her life, Matlin recalls sitting next to Hurt in their limo with the Academy Award statuette by her side, only to be berated by the actor. According to Matlin, Hurt, who had been dreading the possibility of Matlin winning the prestigious award, turned to her and asked, “What makes you think you deserve it?” He continued, “There are hundreds of actors who have worked for years for the recognition you just got handed to you. Think about that.”

Matlin’s memoir alleges that the Oscar-winning actor physically abused and sexually assaulted her. In one particularly horrific passage, Matlin remembers an incident that took place while Hurt was filming Broadcast News (he would later be nominated for an Academy Award for his performance). Hurt “finally came home around 4:30 A.M. drunk and woke

Hurt “finally came home around 4:30 A.M. drunk and woke me up,” Matlin writes. “The next thing I knew he’d pulled me out of the bed, screaming at me, shaking me. I was scared, I was sobbing. Then he threw me on the bed, started ripping off his clothes and mine. I was crying. ‘No, no, no. Please Bill, no.’ The next thing I remember is Bill ramming himself inside me as I sobbed.”

Samual L Jackson:
Samuel L. Jackson recently discussed his vocal anti-Trump stance in an interview with Esquire, opening up about how he views his role as a public figure in the political sphere.

"This motherf---er is like ruining the planet and all kinds of other crazy s---," Jackson said. "And if you're not saying anything, then you're complicit. And I wouldn't give a f--- if I was a garbageman and I had a Twitter account; I'd tweet that s--- out.

"I'm not thinking about who I am and what my job is when I do that s---."

Samuel L. Jackson

✔@SamuelLJacksonI want Proof, the Muthafukker demanding folks stand for the Anthem actually knows the words to the Anthem!!

Jackson, who has been a frequent critic of President Donald Trump and Republican lawmakers, was asked if he worries about "antagonizing fans" with his ideology.

"I know how many motherf---ers hate me. 'I'm never going to see a Sam Jackson movie again.' F--- I care? If you never went to another movie I did in my life, I'm not going to lose any money. I already cashed that check. F--- you. Burn up my videotapes. I don't give a f---," he said.

They have a right to say what they want. Just posted to show the quality of the people in this film.

The movie has Pitts in a Huey but it was an HH43-B helo-twin rotors the day of his mission. This was an odd duck helicopter in that when the rotors were turning the aircraft had to be either entered at the front or rear going under the jet exhaust. The reason entering from front or rear was that often the blades would be at knee-high level on the sides. I flew on these things from 1968-1972 and the AF got rid of them due to high maintenance. They gave them to Spain. Further, flight was restricted in the rain due to canvas covering on the blades separating and in high heat lift was sorely restricted. The 43 had a 600 Ft rescue cable and a power charge that would sever the cable if the aircraft was taking ground fire or the jungle penetrator became entangled and then the AC or CP would hit the red button and sever the cable with the loser of whatever was on the cable. They were restricted in range in that they couldn't carry much fuel she 55 drums with fuel were strategically placed certain areas and they'd land, pump the fuel into the 43 and off they'd go back to base. But in 1972, Air Rescue transitioned to the Huey helicopter. Sadly, not many are left that remember the 43's.
