I'd like to help in some way.
I had more time on my hands back in 2018 and would have been glad to lead this activity to fruition. I bumped this and tagged DruryJ as he was discussing getting something together currently. I will still be glad to help out anyway I can.
If it was held outdoors, I could probably provide a case of hot dogs to grill up for the kids.

I mentioned a “bring a friend ENS”, but it f you guys want to do something as far as working with kids, thats great too.
I don’t have anything particular in mind though so you all who are thinking to do something along these lines think about it some please. I’ll do the same. Maybe we can come up with something definite.

We need to educate as many as we can about firearms so they know how to handle them safely and don't see firearms as evil or dangerous.
I agree that we should think about it and hopefully we can come up with something for later in the spring.
The issue is that you have to find parents with the same mindset. A lot in this day and time are against gun ownership because the media tells them so and they believe the media.
In this same thread I posted about our Ponca City Rifle and pistol club junior rifle club. In it's 50+ year existence, myself and thousands of kids have gone through this program in this town alone.
They had zero kids sign up for the program this year. First time in its history.
That kind of tells you what the media has done to the gun education programs around this country that is meant to educate children into safe gun ownership.
They beat the parents into mush by parroting all the anti-gun rhetoric and the small minority of gun crimes in this country into brainwashing our kids that guns are the evil part of this society.
The left gun grabbers are getting their wish to disarm us one step at at time. This program in Ponca City is total proof of how that happens.

We could have "first time shooters" day. If we could get one or more of the local ranges to join in, first time shooters get to shoot 10 rounds in 2 guns, or whatever, for free.
Ranges might get some new business out of it.
But then again, if it's publicized, the Bloomberg Moms might protest and get their 30 seconds of comments on the local news. ggrrrrrrrr

Make Sure They're Ready and Willing
Each family has its own traditions and standards for determining when a child is ready to fire a gun. My wife and I have opted to postpone the first trip to the range until our kids can demonstrate a clear understanding of safety instructions and a level of maturity that shows they will be able to stay on task for the length of the event.
But being mentally prepared is not the same as having a desire to go. Walking through the rules provides an opportunity to gauge a child's level of enthusiasm. In our son's case, he was very excited to finally be invited to join his grandpa, aunts, uncles and cousins for the day. But if he had been reluctant or uncomfortable about going, we would have done our best to resolve his concerns. If he still didn't want to go, we would have continued to postpone the first outing until he was ready.

Thank you for the advice. I had no intention of forcing someone to do something they didn't want to do.
