My go to load for my gun is 28grains of arcomp, 123eldm,cci 400 loaded to 2.270, getting 2585fps with a magnetospeed out of a 22” jp barrel. This is close to max load, work up in yours. I have the Grendel load books from that forum if your interested in specific load data for a bullet. I’ve read where guys are having issues with newer production sst bullets. Mine are several years old and shoot the same as amax’s and eldm. I have a general assortment of bullets if you want to try some

I am ordering the books, seen some of the other folks talking them up and I am already looking at getting some heavier bullets as well.

I stopped my ladder plans at 27.5 just to stay away from max . if I find 27.5 the best loads I may load up and down from there but will go at .1 grain increments and watch for pressure signs.

Fwiw, I have loaded up to 28.2 grains in mine, mainly getting an extractor mark as a pressure sign in my ar. The same load in my bolt gun gets a cratered primer. As a bonus my loading with arcomp seem to be spot on when it’s hot and cold out.

That is what I read after you mentioned it.

Flyer was me and this is 100yrds off a bipod.
Also this AR likes federal ammo, 2 types were the most consistent.

Federal fusion seems to shoot well in my gun too. I’ve heard that the federal brass is not so good for reloading.( I haven’t tried any yet)

yukon ok
Federal brass works fine for me. It is my go to brass for .223.
But I never had enough winchester or remington..I do now and may test it.

I have Lapua in .308 and .223 and my 2 accurate guns want the necks turned on the lapua cases to be accurate.
I anneal every time and this really helps.
