I'm in the same boat though my age is a bit lower. In Jan I got some sort of infection that caused my sinuses to clog up worse than a shower drain with 5 women in the house, my breathing was somewhat restricted and had a very small, dry hacking cough. No fever though. Went to the doc and they said it wasn't viral due to the lack of fever so told me to take OTC for the symptoms and it will pass. This past week I've had something similar though much more low key. Sinuses clogged a bit causing sinus headaches, slight bit of chest congestion, but again no fever. I do believe its just allergies being extra bad this year. Normally I just deal with the slight congestion and sniffles I get (those itchy eyes get me though) but this year I've actually had to take stuff a few times. I have to be extra careful due to my job (yes we are still running on installs and trouble calls until the gov shuts us down, then it will be just phone trouble calls) and my wife (who is in her upper 50's) has a compromised immune system and has always seemed to be affected worse by illnesses (what takes me 3-4 days to get over takes her 10-14 days).

With this virus I think its just a matter of time as to when people will get it (last estimate I've seen was 2/3rds of the population should end up contracting it). This "flatten the curve" deal is just to limit the effect on hospitals, it won't prevent the amount of people contracting it.

Prayers for all of you, and the rest of us. This virus seems to affect some much harder that others. I'm used to being out and about a lot, and staying home has been a tough habit to form, but I have found some projects that had been on the back burner, and between those, stationary bike, and starting spring yardwork, I may become a real homebody!

But really, stay home as much as you can, wash your hands a lot, and eat some good food (then you have to exercise more!)

Prayers for everyone who feels ill. These are indeed scary times. So far,the wife and I feel ok. We go to the grocery store and that's it.No where else.

I'll 2nd and ECHO this and add the feed and seed store so that our seed bank is in good shape.. Of course reading all the bad news doesn't leave one feeling good..

We have some positives. If you are having respiratory illness right now, then assume it IS COVID-19.

I had a positive show up I saw in the clinic on Friday the 13th. What this tells me is it has been widespread and passing through the community well before our first reported case.

What it also tells me is that people are getting better. It is more widespread than we thought, but LESS deadly in a healthy population with good access to care, nutrition, etc.

Don't panic, but assume you HAVE been exposed. Everyone in my clinic has been exposed and we have 2 doctors out, one which has mild symptoms, one who was sick last week but recovered well in 4-5 days and then came back to see patients, all before we knew the first case was positive.

So...remain vigilant, but RELAX.

And someone pass this on, if you can, I'm swamped here and don't have time to crosspost.

Hang in there, folks, we will get through this, but I am ENCOURAGED by the fact there is a lot more of this out there than we knew about. Hang in there, Oklahoma!

This is what I am thinking. I honestly think I had Covid 19 in November and we hadn't even heard of it then. I have NEVER had a cough like that. I went to my Dr, and while Im waiting in the exam roomm, I broke into a coughing fit. The Dr. heard me from across the hall with doors closed. So when he came in, no more explanation was needed. It was awful and I think I cracked some ribs coughing.

I feel like I have a fever right now. And have felt like it several times in the last two weeks. But I check, and it's at or a little below normal. I think my pea-sized brain is just particularly susceptible to the power of suggestion.
Yeah, the brain is, sometimes our worst enemy. Injury or feeling ill, do I need to get seen or just rough it out?

I had a coughing fit about 2 years ago that caused Costachondritis in my left shoulder. Felt like firecrackers going off all through my shoulder. Of course the first thing that runs through my mind is left shoulder pain = heart attack!!!! SCARED THE SHIZZ-iT OUTTA ME.

Wishing everyone well.

Yes. I've got some allergy sinus crap going on like I do every year. Slight occasional fever, drainage, slight cough due to drainage, stopped up nose and itchy eyes. Last night I had to spray some nasal decongestant up my nose to breath and to use my CPAP. No chest problems just couldn't get air up the nose. Of course, the first thought was oh crap I got the beer virus but realized it probably wasn't. I'm 71 and in great health so I think I could make it through the Covid19 if I got it, fingers crossed.
