As the title says, I'm wanting feedback from you guys on AAA. I've been considering getting it mostly because I have one vehicle that is 35 years old and one that is 52 years old and I'm the one that dies maintenance on them, so I know they are going to break down eventually. [emoji38] [emoji38]

Have you had to make use of the policy? Was it a major hassle? Would you recommend it?

Thanks in advance.

I have it, have never used it. I figure its cheap enough and if need be its better than a kick in the junk.
That being said, I've been with my dad when he had to use it. Ran out of gas in a snow storm on I80 on our way to Nebraska....about 3 hours later they had someone there who had come from about 2 miles up the road (this was before GPS and we didnt know where the closest station was).

We have had it a few years, only used it 2 or 3 times for a dead batt or something. It just came up for renewal and The Wife asked if I wanted to keep it. My Tahoe is 16 years old with 265k, needs a motor rebuild. Her Escape is 14 years old. My Z is 11 years old.

Yeah, I told her to keep it.

I've had it for several years and it's been worth it. Me, my wife and two kids on the policy and between all of us, it gets used every year, usually more than once. Flats, dead batteries, water pump hemorrhaging anti freeze down the block. You know, usual stuff.

One daughter had a dead battery this winter and it was one AAA replaced a few years ago when my wife was driving the car. They had no problem looking up the old ticket and pro rating a discount based on the age of the battery. AAA came out, replaced battery in the driveway and hauled away the old one. It's something I did all the time back in the day, but Hell, I'm old and it was cold that day. Screw that.

I get the "gold" or some such package. It gives you a lot more towing range. Any more, even hooking up for a tow is at least as much as the policy. I think it's about $129/year? I have it on auto renew.

I’ve had it since 2015 and had to use it once. No problems. I also have a towing policy on my insurance. My agent said that if I were to use AAA, to get a receipt from whoever came to help me and my insurance would reimburse me that amount.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm probably going to go ahead and get it. I drive MAYBE 5000 miles a year divided between 3 vehicles, but my wife puts quite a few more miles on hers, so it's probably worth it. Plus like I said, 2 of my 3 vehicles are very old. [emoji38]

I don't drive a lot anymore since I retired, but have had them for awhile. Only used them for dead battery and flat. Usually came in an hour.
