druryj...........I know exactly what you mean. I remember as a 7-8 year old kid looking through the Sears,J C Penny, and Montgomery Ward catalog at toys, BB Guns and Mini Bikes!!!

Me and flatwins sprortin the old mini bike

This almost exactly what my Dad and I built in the 60's. We started with the front forks of a junk bycyclye and welded a frame to house a 2 1/2 HP go cart B&S engine, used a go cart sprocket and centrifugal clutch. Made a seat from plywood with foam attached and covered with naugahyde. I think it is still in the attic of my Dad's house.
