Home Remedy for squaring up a rough sawed off Rem 870 barrel?

Could anyone tell me a garage gunsmith way to square up a crooked barrel end? Friend of my traded for an old Rem 870 Express Super Magnum .12 gauge. Vent rib barrel sawed down to 18 9/16” length. Old discolored synthetic furniture, blueing left maybe 50% remaining. Quite nauseating to behold for a guy who keeps his firearms maintained. Friends using it for a pawn shop “leave out” gun.

A gunsmith would use a lathe with a cutoff tool. You could wrap a band of cardboard that has a good straight edge around it scribe a line and cut it with a hacksaw. Then deburr it.

I just use a file and machinist square then some emory cloth. Takes a few minutes.

If you have a disc sander like this or other with a platform in front of it.

You can take the barrel and lay it on the platform and square it up and roll it as the disc sander spins and sands it flat.
Vent rib or sights on it will need to be removed of course.
I have used that technique for a few rifle barrels.

Take a combination square and a fine sharpie, find the "lowest" part of the angle and work around the barrel from there with the square. Then use the tool of your choice to clean it up to the line. When you are done make sure you debur the inside, and outside edge of the barrel.

As stated above, I have a combination belt/disc sander. The belt portion is always in the up position with a table the lets me shape metal at 90 degrees, I would just use the belt sander with no marking.

This works for shotties, rifles typically need to be re-crowned to maintain their accuracy.

What , you don’t need to aim it?
Just gonna shoot at the hip and sweep the street clean?
Cut it in the middle of whatever part of the vent rib is closest to your desired cut length
