I keep talking about the Dead Foot Arms Modified Cycling System, which allows a much shorter buffer that facilitated adding a fold stock/brace that allows for shooting the gun while folded. It's expensive, but it's the only solution if you want to use a direct impingement AR that can be shot with the stock/brace folded.

Otherwise, you could go with the Brownells BRN180 uppers--but they're twice the price of the Dead Foot Arms folding stock setup.

Lol well. i guess im not the only one that uses the tennis rackets for carry. my full size 16" side folding and underfolding Ak fit perfect in a normal wilson, spalding or similar tennis racket bag. its nice to use for carry to and from a house if you have nosey neighbors. i lived in apartments for awhile and thats how i transported them in and out of the apartment to my trunk when i would goto a gun range. there was alot of familys and kids always playing outside and i think it probably made them uncomfortable seeings some kid in his 20's carrying big gun cases in and out of the house every weekend so i kinda of started using this method of transport.

anyhow, your best bet is to do like i did and just goto a thrift store like goodwill and find some junk nobody wants you can get for a few bucks.

thats how i made this score. you can also find other sporting bags ment for baseball ect that will fit these. get creative. i found other sports bags for basebats that i picked up for 50 cents to a doaller that are great carry cases also. not that i have anything to hide at all but in the unlikely event my trunk is searched by someone wanting to steal my guns i own they will probably look over the basketball, adidas sports bag and tennis racket bag ect that has guns and ammo in it.

sometimes the best concealment is the one right before your eyes, you know. ive seen people with soda machine gunsafes and grandfather clocks converted into gun safes.

anyhow, ive been carrying my ak's occasionally like this for about 8 years now. im sure some people picked up on the idea by now that have seen me at public gun ranges lol. i got the idea from someone on the ak forum who thought this up years and years ago. guess it just so turns out folding aks fit perfect in tennis racket cases. not sure about how well ar-15s do/

I'm not sure what you're trying to say there, 264killer...

I recently got a Copper Basin takedown rifle backpack. It will hold a my 10/22 takedown easily. A 10.5 inch barrel Ar pistol with PSA fluted flash can will nearly fit. the flash can sticks out. Might be what makes me finally buy a 8.5 inch .300 blackout upper or a 9mm upper and glock magwell conversion.

Old fat guys don't generally play tennis or raquetball so we sort of stand out carrying in those cases. Vertx has about the best covert bags I've seen. I'd really like to find a classy looking briefcase setup for a LAW foldered SBR or braced pistol but it would be a quite large briefcase.
