hello, i was wondering if anybody had a hk mp5 ? i have had the pleasure of shooting a full auto example of a mp5 with a fixed stock that was a rental before and it was amazing to control under full auto fire.

so i own a 9mm kalashnikov usa ak and it has been great, absolutely love this gun. i think i have 500 rounds of 9mm through it so far. so i was wondering if anyone with a mp5 or sp5 rather was interested in this gun? i kind of would like to compare them side by side someday. wishful thinking but id like to even compare accuracy of one another.

so if anyone has a hk mp5/sp5 and lives in the okc area, id be more than happy to meetup sometime and put lead downrange with ya and compare our guns.

im going on a limb here and going to say the hk is going to be the more accurate gun, but to be honest i have been extremely impressed with the accuracy of this 9mm ak but i also currently have a red dot on it./.

(edit, i did find a interesting video on the PCC's maybe worth checking out if anyone is interested in these guns. i am watching it right now.)

I don't have one, but please keep your eyes open for the next Eat n Shoot, if it ever gets to where we can have one again thanks to this dang virus. I bet a lot of folks here would be interested in one or the other or both!

While not on the cheap end of the spectrum, your gun has like others, gone through the roof. I guess I should have purchased when they released them. Anyhoo, I have shot an mp5 and sp89. as noted, both smooth as glass. I haven't shot your gun, but you can somewhat be surgical with the mp5

well i wouldnt mind meeting up to shoot targets sometime. so i will have to keep an eye out for any kind of group meet-ups like that. i have quite a bit of ak's and the saiga 12 with a drum is always a favorite of most everyone that shoots it. i have tuned it perfectly where it has little to no recoil at all. everybody walks away with a smile after running a 20 round drum. its cheap and its alot of fun. always cool to check out other guns also. been interested in more exotic stuff lately like sigs and Fns and moving away from just ak's so its nice to see what other people like or have fun with.

well i watched the video i posted by forgotten weapons and was a little bit disappointed with the performance of the kp9 coming in last, but to be fair it didnt seem like exactly all that of a fair match to me. they did have different kinds of optics on all 3 of them. i think a fair accuracy comparison would be straight out of the box from factory. i will say that at 25 yards out of the box i was able to put all my rounds in a 4-5 inch circle target with my absolute first shots just using irons, so i am highly impressed with the kp9s accuracy. heck the bullet holes were touching so i think it was like maybe around a 2 inch group maybe? it honestly took me by surprise. i have since put a eotech red dot on it for the cool look factor and have got it sighted in at 50 yards and it shoots great.

now, i can not necessarily compare the 2 for being better nor worse, but i think the clear winner is the mp5 as far as quality goes and performance when it comes down to surgical pinpoint accuracy as stated above, but i also think the kp9 is a absolutely great alternative and it can do nearly the exact same thing. it honestly kind of falls down to the end user you know? someone with more experience with the kp9 like myself is going to do better in certain timed matches than others will do.

the one really odd thing i noticed in the video though like others stated is that the kp9 in that forgotten weapons video was almost like it was having trouble knocking down some of the steel targets, like at least 10-15 seconds was spent fumbling with shooting the same targets again and again to get them to actually fall down. almost like it had less knock down power. he could have just not had a good zero and just knicked the targets also?

which is odd since im pretty sure he used the same ammo for all 3 guns in that test. i can only speculate that its due somehow to the type of action the gun uses. the ak notoriously uses more gas to cycle a bigger piston style carrier with a bigger open receiver which is why this type of gun is claimed they are so reliable.

anyhow, just my thoughts :) i think i will just save up for a sp5 and get one when they are available again for what hk is asking and not double from retailers and people taking advantage of the panic pricing.

I have no experience with the guns you asked about, but since you mention Sig...I'll say I was pleasantly impressed with my recently acquired MPX. A fellow board member also shot it and liked it enough that he bought one. His brother has a SP5 on order and he's hoping to take his brother shooting and let him shoot the MPX before committing completely on the SP5.

yeah, the more i think about it the more i wonder what the best pcc there is. there is so many good choices now. i forgot entirely about the sig mpx. heck those may be even better or more accurate than the sp5 mp5 clones. theres the kriss vectors, the scorpians and lets not forget all the many different ar-15 pistols. i guess it just comes down to what you like really. Lol i like them all. wouldnt mind trying out a vector sometime just because they are a neat gun. i thought about renting one thats full auto just to see how it fares against the full auto mp5 i shot at hnh. well, im sure the ar style direct gas impingement blowback action has the other types of guns beat in the accuracy department again. Lol, my groups are nowhere near as good as the guys at the range with ar-15s but they are minute of squirrel so thats good enough for me i guess. been doing alot of .22 and 12 gauge shooting this year since all the other ammo is pretty difficult to find.

9mm AR guns are direct blowback, not DI.
The guns you're trying to compare are different in operation, weight, trigger pull, sighting options , cost and accessories.
Too many variables to select which is best of all. It comes down to personal preference.

That's one thing that sold me on the MPX. Its AR style controls and fire control group but it's short stroke gas piston, not blowback. I really wanted something I could shoot while collapsed so that knocks out the PCC ARs. And I didn't want blowbacknso that knocked out lots of others too.

The cmmg AR9 pistol is a delayed blow back. It is interesting how it works. The Bolt lugs are angled and gas key is deleted. That one may interest you.
