Yep. My OCD kicked in spectacular fashion. What got me started on the cinder blocks is my back yard is sloped and I could never get whatever I was using to look neat and level ... Until I found cinder blocks! Don't be surprised if in a couple of years I'm posting about mortaring the blocks. Lol I'm a little nuts that way. But for now I'm just happy it's all level ... Kinda ... Pretty much ... At least if you don't look REAL close.

Hot damn! Lol ok so now I'm not a photographer ... Haha! I gots things to do today but tonight when I sit my tired ass down I'll figure out what my square footage of growing space is and what I want to put in it. The back half of the "bed" is gonna be a pollinator garden. The little peninsulas are for vegetable gardening. At least for now. We will see how it goes.
The continuous use of those blocks leads me to believe Grumpy had a hand in the brainstorming process.. LOL.. Looks good and the use of the blocks gets a 2 thumbs up, pass that on to Grumpy..
Ahhhhh but you would be wrong. Grumpy had NO HAND in the design nor execution. Well, except to go into the backyard when I was about half-finished and say "You didn't haul all those blocks in THAT truck in ONE LOAD did you?!?!?"
He likes to think I could never get along without him ...
Anything else I have to say will just cause him to complain incessantly how I don't appreciate him so I'll just end this with "he is here for other reasons than to do actual 'man work'."
Fwiw... they make half-blocks. If you use those on the ends of every other layer, each layer's whole blocks will then straddle the seams (where the blocks meet) of the layer below it. Makes it more stable.
You'd also want to stagger the corners & ends that way, so you might not even need the half-blocks.

Yep. I realized that about half way thru. And that's why it's not completely filled in with dirt. And I haven't filled the holes in the blocks with sand yet either. I had some sewing projects I needed to get done for a friend. Back to moving blocks around next week -- or whenever this flare-up I have going on decides to slow the **** down. I'm ready to go back to "just a headache" ...
I have the lanscape cloth to lay in the walkways to put down pea gravel but I may not do that. The ducks like to get in the walkways and catch bugs and eat some "new to them" grass. They don't get up IN the beds like the chickens do so they get a little more freedom. I'm wondering, too, if I could plant some forage stuff for the rabbits and let them out every once in a while for some exercise, fresh greens and mental stimulation. People think I'm a weirdo but I have this thing for my critters. Just because I'm gonna eat them doesn't mean I don't need to give them the best life I can.
These dang orange cherry maters have kicked tail this year and are still going strong, So darn many ya never get'em all picked.. I stuck a branch in the greenhouse to see if I can get it to root and maybe produce..
