I keep telling my wife they probably won’t find anything, that the “mass graves” story is probably one of those local legends. And now they find a body in an “unmarked” grave; older headstone made of wood deteriorated over time? Got damaged or lost? Or maybe it belongs to one of the WHITE victims of the Tulsa Race Holocaust? I’m sure there will be quite a story made for it, true or not.

We farmed next to a feller that farmed next to the Chisolm Trail crossing at the Cimarron River. He was plowing up human bones about every year. OU told him to keep plowing after 5 years straight unless he plowed up an artifact or something modern like fillings or crowns.

I live just down the street from the cemetery where they have been digging. Of course they are going to find human remains when digging up graves. I would be more surprised if the digging was being done in an area away from other headstones not close to them.

You dont have to go to a cemetery to find human remains back in the day you got buried where you died people are buried everywhere in Okla.

Yep. According to family records, I’ve got a relative buried in an unmarked grave somewhere along the wagon trail that ran from Arkansas to Texas.
