Wow I can't believe this thread is 7 pages long. I don't know good BBQ I guess. It all tastes the same to me. I don't eat it very often, but when I do it's the deep fried BBQ burritos you get in the hot boxes at old gas stations. Only place I have had BBQ that was memorable to me is Moonlight BBQ in Owensboro Kentucky.

Now if this were a thread on the best chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes I could get into that and take notes. I will drive across the Midwest for good chicken fry.

Your "post count" is too low, Friend. You need to be here more often and post more to gain the experience to know when someone is "funnin' you."

That said, I'll have to admit to not being a big BBQ fan myself. I guess I kind of get it from my wife, who doesn't like most BBQ places because their BBQ sauce is too sweet. We used to enjoy going to County Line on NE 63rd in OKC, but they closed down. We found a place in Buena Vista, Colorado a couple of years ago while passing through, but from what I've heard, they have closed down as well.

Oh well, I can take solace in the fact that my wife fixed me an EXCELLENT noon meal today. Hamburger steak and hominy. Yummy...

The days are long gone when food was prepared properly from scratch. Now it's frozen and packaged and then microwave prepared. Maybe with the cooks they hire today it's for the better anyway.

Quit trying to get me off track... Speaking of hamburger steak... First I put cheese on mine and grilled onions if I have them, if I don't have taters of some kind to go with it I have a big bowl of cottage cheese, heavy on the salt and pepper.

Back to bbq... I don't like very sweet sauce either but I certainly don't like the vinegar style sauce at all.

A lot of guys here like Butcher bbq in Wellston but it is way too sweet for me.

I love it. But the best I have ever ate is smoking Joe’s in Davis. Man it was great. I go to rib crib about once a month.

I love rib crib too. And Smokin Joe's was pretty legit. Didn't care for their sweet sauce, but it was good. We each ordered a three meat plate and ate on it for two days.

Bobs in Ada was my favorite for many years.They had chunks of brisket along with the usual sliced.I have eaten BBQ at most of the famous places in Austin and Kansas city and haven't found any i liked better than Bobs.

Ate there once in the 80’s. Huge portions!
I was counseled to only order 1/2 orders. Me being skeptical ordered the full order. Good grief there had to be a 5lb bag of taters made into fries. Came on it’s own giant platter. Full slab of ribs on another.
Didn’t the wife of the owner end up killing him or something?
