And no, we don't usually do any confirmatory testing. We go with what the kit says. For the 'send out' COVID tests, ours are just a simple inside the nose swab (not the DEEP one) that gets sent to Labcorp for a 2-3 day turnaround. I have no idea what that costs, we have nothing to do with it. If someone wants a 'confirmatory' test, this would be what we would do, but it isn't any more accurate as far as I know than the in-office test.

We had someone in the shop at work test positive for the Rona last week, so the shop guys all went home until they could get tested. One of them was back the next day because he’d called around until he found a place doing the rapid testing that could see him that day.

Personally, I’m not worrying about it.

BRB. Gotta update my will.

I went to a clinic, put my name on the list but couldn't stay. I left and a week later got a positive test result in the mail.

That was around the time when the media was reporting hangnails as covid.

watching the place up the street doing tests. your more likely to catch the covid standing in their line. it's out the door and down the sidewalk. that would be a no-go for me.

Our local hospital did both the rapid and a send out test on 100 people to check accuracy of the rapid test. After the 100 people they quit the rapid test. There finding were 32 false positives 4 false negatives. The send out test now takes 24 hrs where when they first started took 3-4 days.

That sure sounds off to me... there are multiple rapid tests out there, I know. But to find 32 false positives out of 100? That is essentially our entire positive rate right now. We hit 7 positive today out of 22, one I am sure will be positive by tomorrow, as his wife was positive today.

That's just one of those internet statistics I'm gonna take with a grain of salt. No test with that poor accuracy should make it through FDA approval.
