Here is your security system you can use that is wireless and rechargeable. Sends a notification to your smart phone when a person or motion or sound is detected. Those settings are adjustable. Infra red for night use.
I have them scattered around our home perimeter. You can see on your phone how much battery charge is left on each camera. I charged ours over a month ago and they still have 60% as they sleep until motion is detected.
1080P resolution. They recharge in a little over an hour via a usb/C connection and are magnetically attached to the mounts so you just pull the cam off the mount, take it into the home and charge it. Snap it back on the mount and your done for another month or longer.
Free 12 second cloud storage for when they detect motion/person/sound. No subscription unless you want the next level up which is $1.99 per month per cam. That gives you continuous recording live as long as the detection settings are being triggered by motion/person/sound.
There is also a mini sd card slot so if you detect motion you can use your phone to record the entire event on the SD card that can be reviewed online or removed to be looked at on a computer.
It can be a stand alone cam just like a game cam in the woods. All motion is put on the SD card just like your game cam.

I have some of these mounted as down lights. They are dim lights and get quite a bit brighter for about a minute when they detect activity. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B017LYD93C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have 4 of these lights. They are off except when they detect motion, then they are pretty bright. The sensitivity and length they stay on is adjustable. If fully charged they can stay on for about 3 hours.

Have these been reliable for you? Had them long?

We ahve nest cameras and are very happy with them, the quality of the pics and the overall costs. If that property was mine and I had those potential issues I'd camera up the back yard with 2-3 cameras as well as 2-3 in the front especially covering the driveway, front door and any sidegates or front windows facing the street. Since you have what looks like a nice 6' fence around the back yard I'd find a way to mount some lights on either some tall steel poles with romex run up the middle with some good flood lights covering the entire area beyond the fenceline. Or are you able to put one or two big hardwired lights on the roof facing the back yard that are on when you want them to be on or on some sort of motion sensor? If i have dudes the next street over doing armed burlaries on cars, the next target are the homes. I wouldn't rely on solar lights to deter them from my property. I'm going full 120v hardwired and cameras.

When you say armed burgler looting cars in drive ways are you talking guys with pistols on hips or AR's across their chests?

The video of that incident shows a car pulling up, guy getting out of the car. He pulls out and loads a pistol and has it in hand as he checks the car, and then walks up to the house and tries the doors and windows. The homeowner is a CRNA and his wife an RN, with young kids, so doubtful they are up to anything nefarious (the homeowners). Hardwired lights and cameras will be placed around the house. The solar lights would be on poles at the property line facing away from my property. So my actual property will be hardwired, with the "natural area" that I dont own but maintain, will have a "softer" perimeter.

I have had several brands of cameras and the NiteOwl dvr system I have now is light years ahead of anything else that I have seen. The night vision is good enough to see facial detail 40 feet away. I prefer wired over wireless, but it takes a lot of planning to run the wires. This old body of mine doesn't like crawling around in the attic. I use a ups battery backup to ensure that I don't lose coverage during power outages.

Just a reminder, your 120v lights can be rendered useless in less than 10 seconds with a pair of side cutters. Simply snip the seal and toss the meter can on the ground and your power is off. If you plan on repelling armed invaders please plan further.
