Ok, so I've been thinking about this a bit. We have all kinds of running threads, I thought this might be a good chance for us to post daily thoughts, prayers, praises or whatever that those of us who want to do so can participate in regularly to see what's going on with other members in their lives, families, personal insights, etc.

My vision for this thread is that I can check it each morning or a couple of times a day and say a quick prayer as I go about my business for the needs of other members, or a praise for something good that happened to them, etc.

For instance, on my phone I have a program that sends me scheduled text messages. You can set it up to send to someone else, but for myself, I found 4 or 5 small little 10-second prayers and I set them up on a rotating schedule to send to me every hour or hour and a half during the workday. Then when I am walking by my phone, I see that I have a message and pick it up and when I see my little prayer, I make myself stop what I'm doing for 10 seconds and read it to myself, praying along. I find it helps keep me somewhat more focused on trying to be a good example and a better person throughout the day - it's way too easy to get sidetracked and caught up in the gossip, griping and whining in an office - especially one mostly full of women! lol

So, if you feel the need, the desire, whatever, just post up:

- something you want other members to pray for even small things, yes, like helping you make it through the day, helping you figure out what to buy your wife for Christmas, or BIG things, like my kid is struggling with alcohol and drugs, my best friend is going through a divorce and needs prayer - keep us updated regularly about what is going on. I envision this as a sub-water cooler where like-minded folks can interact about such things on a daily or semi-daily basis

- some kinds of praises you are thankful for today. Funny tasteful pics, beautiful pics that made you think of God's glory in nature, something like that. Post memes with scripture verses. I'd rather there wasn't alot of politics in here, I'd like to see this be an encouraging thread and one filled with mutual member support.

- post frustrations you have, struggles you are going through, etc. For me, right now I am frustrated with the deaths of a number of patients especially due to the CV lately. And some I am particularly worried about. Stuff like that, but personal struggles - honestly, so many of us struggle daily with things like bad attitudes, negativity, bad language, strife, lust, pornography, alcohol abuse or other addictions, etc. I think we can talk about some of those things in general terms and many of us have been through some of those things and can help, encourage and pray for others going through the same things.

So anyways, that's kind of what I envision. A God-centered watercooler place here on OSA. A place relatively free from negativity, full of encouragement and someplace we can check in daily to post encouraging thoughts or ask for prayer for specific struggles.

I'd like to see it take off, but only time will tell and only members can make it so.

Have a great and blessed day to all of you, my friends!

Great idea Danny,
Here's one for all of our members here at OSA!

Lord,

You are the God who creates beautiful friendships. Thank you for my friendship with OSA.

I pray for my dear friends. They have been such a blessing in my life.

I am excited about the incredible things you are doing for them and through their each day.

Thank you for molding them, preparing them, and positioning them to fulfill their destiny.

Thank you for your comfort that they may be refreshed and strengthened.

Thank you for your personal ministry to their past emotional wounds that they may be totally healed.

Thank you for your promise that goodness and mercy will follow them all the days of their life.

May they more fully receive your peace for daily life into their heart each day.

In Jesus' name I pray,

Amen

May I ask what app you are using on your phone? It sounds like a great thing to have and maybe give me and other members great comfort throughout the day.

Danny,

I dunno if you even remember this but a WAY long time ago you were going through a rough patch and I PMed you cuz I was honestly worried about where your head was. Everyone else seemed to just be piling on here cuz honestly you were just such an easy target. You would squabble with anybody about anything back then. Lol ;)

I haven't been spending much time here because sometimes the childishness seems to take over nearly every thread -- I am well aware that that could be as much where my head is as where anyone else's is. But anyway ...

This is a long way around me saying I'm so proud of where you are versus where you were all those years ago. Shelley is a lucky, lucky woman. And Ian is a lucky, lucky kid. You have grown into a beautiful man (I knew you were in there back then, you just had a lot going on back then!! ;) )

My hope for today is that each of us find a way to stop, take a deep breath and remember that regardless of our differences we all deal with problems and we all have blessings and that each of us, for just one day, focus on the blessings rather than the problems. Tomorrow is plenty soon enough to go back to focusing on the trials and tribulations of this life. Rinse, repeat.

And without getting too mushy ... I **heart** you all.

The one I am using is called Do It Later. Allows you to schedule texts, emails, etc. Seems to work for me. It's a little cumbersome to set up a lot of repeating things like I did, but once I got it set up, it's been running for months. I think at one point it stopped sending them and I looked into it and there was some setting on my phone I had to turn off - honestly can't remember what it was.

Here, but occasionally There.
Well, a prayer daily for the sick and injured AND their caregivers is pretty much standard with the wife and I.

And, as an aside for a hopefully humorous bent, "may a certain someone NEVER twist an ankle while 'walking in the ladies' shoes.'"

Kudos to you, Sir. You seem to do well.

I pray daily that our world can find peace, our country can stop drifting away from the founding principles we were formed with. That our state leaders can keep it's people's best interests in mind. I pray for our military, LEO, firefighters, and medics. I pray for people I don't know and for people that don't know our lord. I pray for my home and for the Lord to guide me to be a better father, husband, provider, and protector. And I will be happy to pray for you as well.

We lost a friend to Covid last week and it was distressing to many. He was a Christian and died that way. We and many others prayed that he would rise from the bed and go home and he didn't in the earthly sense. A lot of people asked "why" after they prayed, why did God nto answer their prayers? The answer is that God did answer their prayers, He is all knowing and our Heavenly Father and doesn't a good Father do best for his child? If we honestly believe the there is a Heaven and a Savior that loved us so much He died for us, why would we be so selfish as to desire that the departed one remain on this earth that has become so evil due to mankind? God indeed did raise him from the bed and he did go home and as a Christian he is now with the Lord. the Bible says, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Jesus died for us and if a man says he "found the Lord" he is mistaken because Christ came into the world to seek and save the lost. You see, Christ finds us, He seeks us and then we must respond one way or another-either accept Him or reject Him, it's our choice and it makes an eternal world of difference.
