Thats the truth. there's no "throw things together and it should taste good if things look ok" with baking. Baking is a science, not an emotion.

Being retired means you don't HAVE to be good at anything anymore, right?
Exactly. When I retired, all my skills retired with me. Some folks can't fully retire because they have no hobby's and get bored. Going back to work is their option to boredom.
I have a nice shop with lots of machinery and tools to alleviate that boredom issue, and some days I don't do a danged thing but sit in the shop, feed some wood into the fireplace and listen to some tunes on the stereo system. Might even get a nap in occasionally.

I have been racing towards this as quickly as possible. I just want a shop to piddle around in. I've never had the room for the hobbies.

A shop is about a necessity or partition off a garage. We have a couple of shop buildings on the place. One is for storage of "things" not related to the house like lawn equipment, etc.
The other is the man cave with fridge, reloading equipment, 60" TV, machine tools like lathes, vertical band saws, welders, double barrel wood stove, central heat and air if no wood, fishing gear, and the list goes on. I can stay as busy as I want or not as busy with some projects. Been planning this man cave since in my 30's and I love it. No wimmen allowed inside, this is my crib! :D

I think I do good at most things at work that are actual tasks to be done, but I do suck at the hobnobbing with any kind of boss who "knows" they're a boss, so I can spend lots of time on the s**tlist sometimes.

I have committed to memory quite a bit of information concerning certain types of guns and reloading, wildcats, etc, but suck at building my own shooting ability up with a handgun.

I am pretty good at anything building with wood from small shelving units to large decks or shops.
I'm good at renovating but not to good at decorating.
I can do plumbing but terrible at electrical. It scares the hell out of me.
I'm great at organizing (my OCD), Not so good at laundry.
I'm good at dancing (4 time world champion) but can't sing a lick.
I'm good at working a iPhone, tablet or computer and no good with them if they go down.
All in all, pretty good shooter, pretty good fisherman and pretty good problem solver.

That's quite the accomplishment! I'm impressed and congrats!

Thanks guys,
My wife and I are ballroom, swing and country dancers. Our world titles are in country dancing.2009-20012. We are retired now and mainly run our studio, travel to judge competitions wold wide, coach and do choreography for the upcoming young professionals. We have been dancing 40 years and have had our own studio foe 29 years.
But I am so looking forward to retirement. Lol
