Do the form 1 online. Pay your money and upload your photos.
Then download your coversheet and mail your prints.
Should take less than a month.
Get fingerprint cards before you start
They are available on amazon fairly fast
From atf they are free but take a month or so to receive

go to form 1 basics on facebook and look in the files section about how to fill out the forms.
If you don't fill certain questions correctly (as in model) it puts you into research which is about a 90 day timeout.
For suppressors you put FMl (form1) for model and can get approved in as little as 3 weeks.
Use the drop down box and who knows?

If you do the Form-1 by efile, here a a couple of things that may help you.

If you’re on an iPad, use Chrome as a browser. Their systems don’t recognize Safari. I also had to change to Microsoft Outlook to send and receive mail from the ATF.

Order your fingerprint cards before you do the application. When you finish, you download and print a cover sheet that’s required to be sent with the prints.

There is a block on the form that says “additional information” this is where YOU, the maker enter your name/trust and city and state that you have to engrave on the receiver.

You’ll also be required to send a cover letter to your local CLEO stating that you’re applying for manufacture of an NFA item Their signature or approval is NOT required, just notification.

When you receive the approval, you’ll get an email with you approved form in PDF format complete with the stamp. My last two SBRs took 40 days for approval.
