During the last panic, shotshells remained stable for the most part. A little price hike but not anything crazy.
Now shotshells have gone into the panic world.
Saw a box of 20 .410 self defense slugs going for $87 and rising on gunbroker. I remember tons of shot shells being available for as long as I can remember.

Like said before pre-panic pricing for 12ga was $20-$25 per 100 at walmart. You could buy bargain brand Estate for around $70 per case (250 rounds). 20ga in theory should be slightly higher solely due to less sales volume (12ga is king there) or maybe about the same due to less shot/powder. Again, all this is pre-panic and those shells are about 1 step up the "quality scale". Decent ammo but not competition skeet grade stuff.

Create an account on gunbroker and log in. Then you can search completed auctions to get some sort of feel for value. I was just pricing some 16ga steel loads that I tried to sell here awhile back. Pretty hard to turn those as there aren't many folks with guns that can shoot the stuff. Including me!

$5 or $6 a box of 25 is/was about average for those field loads a year ago. I could go into academy or wally world and buy a case (250) for $49.99 or $59.99 almost any day. on sale, regular prince was $60 to $65 a case.
$6.50 or $7 a box is probably a fair price now. I'll make that offer if he or anyone else is interested in selling them. @adamsredlines , @Cowcatcher .
