I recently "chimed in" on one of @pstmstr 's classified ads. He was gracious about it and let a few of us have a little fun with it. When it came down to actually sealing the deal I PM'd him my name, address and phone number so he'd know I was serious. That way if I didn't hold up my end of the bargain he would be able to come by and TP/egg my house if he wanted. My information like that is something I DO NOT want out on a public forum....The PM feature is very useful for private transactions IMO.
Oh, and another thing. I've had 3 "new to the site" people who's word doesn't mean crap just on my latest classifieds listing. You're welcome to use that information for your own evaluation on who you want to do business with.

I’m cross dominate, didn’t know it until I tried to shoot trap and started learning how to shoot firearms correctly. Your accuracy issues are most likely not due eye dominance ;)

So am I. I’ve learned to keep both eyes open and hard focus on front sight. I might learn to squeeze instead of jerk the trigger next.

I am left eye dominate and right handed. I shoot pistol right (can also shoot left) and shoot all long guns left handed. I have found that a pistol optic helps the best.

Its been a challenge relearning, I try to always shoot with both eyes open anyways. with handguns is primarily my only issue, so I just have to put in the practice. Hence why I bought the S&W Victory of Rez so I have something cheap to practice with. I think a pistol optic would help immensely, but I don't want optics on all my pistols.

To me, the huge bolded text implies screaming at me like I’m a little kid. This doesn’t encourage the recent pleas for monetary support for the site because of lack of supporting funds. I feel that the older members of the site are concerned about the deterioration caused by the newbies who have no interest in participating in what I’ve always considered my “OSA family”. IIRC I was the 26th member to join when this site started. Since the “minimum meaningful post count” rule went away, newbies come here to sell and that’s it. They don’t care about the family, just the money. My list of ignored newbies is growing because of the gouging.

Look at some of the threads where members have helped each other or made donations to help their families in crisis or asked for prayers. These are just a few of the things that make us a family.

Yeah, it’s your site and you make the rules, but we have feelings too and when we get smacked for voicing our opinion, it raises the hackles on a lot of us.

The bold is in no way screaming. Since you mentioned little kids, yes, that's how many of the long time users here act. They know the rules, yet simply don't follow them, especially when it comes to the classifieds comments. If you're guilty of commenting in classifieds with your opinion about how much something should cost, then yes the bold was for you, if not, then it was not intended for you. Unwanted classified comments are almost a daily issue, it gets old, it's against the rules, it's really simple.

As far as wanting a minimum post count requirement for the classifieds, myself and the and other mods are 100% in favor of it. Actually I've not encountered another member here who is not in favor of it. Just the owner.

This is a great site, following some general rules makes it that way. As far as this comment "Yeah, it’s your site and you make the rules, but we have feelings too and when we get smacked for voicing our opinion, it raises the hackles on a lot of us," none of the mods make any rules here, none. Once again, every mod here wish the classifieds were different.

In the past, I had a newb hand me the gun I was meeting him to purchase, chambered/loaded. Since then, I tend to buy/sell to members that have been around awhile. You can learn a lot about a person by what they say on the forum...

All of us were newbies at one point. I'm glad a few members took a chance on me. :thumb:

But it is kinda frustrating with so many new members joining/selling all of a sudden. It seems we're getting a year's worth of new traffic per month now. :anyone:

Unfortunately, I don't have all the answers (Ha! I don't even have all the questions).

Yep. That’s why I have dealt with newbies a couple of times in the last few months. Those who communicate well via pm and text/call when we exchange numbers I’m willing to take a chance on. If they show up and if the transaction is smooth I’m always sure to give them good feedback so they can build their reputation on here. Those who don’t get well deserved bad feedback.

I came here for the classified section. I didn't sign up until I found something I wanted to buy. That was about a year ago. Then figured out if I keep an eye on the forum I might learn a thing or two. At least a chuckle every now and then. I have only recently started posting my 2 cents. I guess the question is this a Forum with a Classified section, or online individual gun sales for Okies that also has a Forum.

The current system works very well. If we aren't careful, we will begin to sound like snowflakes.

Depends on how a person defines very well I guess. A cluttered classified section with people you may or may not be able to trust versus those who have been around a while and contributed to the forum other than just looking to make a buck. Personally, I prefer B.
