We may be in for a shock. What have you heard about upcoming increases in utility bills?
The Governor and various state administrators under him gave a presentation assuring everyone that they were doing their utmost to hold the increases down. One administrator was urging utility companies to cancel all automatic bill payment and go back to paper billing...so there would not be a rash of insufficient balance problems at banks.

This is the positive side of regulated utilities.
Your bill will be higher because the additional consumption. If your heater was running 3X as much as normal, your bills will be 3X as high as normal.

But we won’t see the horrendous high bills some states will.

And there might be an increase later in the year to cover unexpected cost in wholesale fuel (rates) and repairs outside the normal expected.

I've been looking on OG&E's and ONG's site and don't see much mentioned. But I do get this on my OG&E account.

It will be a bit more on our utility bill but it's a one time billing increase due to the recent cold spell.

Look at the energy insites tab. It will tell you more.

My last 7 days was $46, the previous 7 $35. 20, 26, 43, 25, 26 in the 7 day block preceding it to the first of the year.

I was running the temp in the house a few degrees warmer to try to keep the outside wall plumbing a bit better protected. And my hot tub was struggling to keep warm.

No near as bad as what some people are stressed out anticipating.

I don't know if you are all electric or not. My electric will be higher, but my gas will likely be quite a bit higher, too, and water will be up a little bit (negligible) from running the taps to keep pipes clear.

I'd anticipate a 50-70% increase for the month for total utilities. (For my house, personally).

Yes! Yes it does. I look at Feb-16 where it shows the temp at -2. My electric cost that day was $1.16! :mosh:

Here's my ONG usage graph. Not real sure why it's so much higher this year than last. Maybe we have been that much colder. With ONG I'm on averaging so it's hard to tell. Not averaging on my electric.
