I am watching the scoring and Davis has landed some good one but the count never went up. He landed about 5 shots in the last part of the 8th that weren't counted.

Announcers - Dirrell is definitely gonna win this one. Davis needs to get in there and score more. Dirrell needs to keep doing what he's doing because he's winning.
Split decision. HA!

Goodson, "I still thought Dirrell should have won."

Just finished it on the DVR, and was really surprised it was a split decision.

Davis didn't do too bad (and probably won or tied a few rounds), but I thought Dirrell easily outboxed him overall. :anyone:

I used to watch a lot of boxing on HBO and Showtime years ago. They used to show the big fights a week after the PPV (may still?). I got so disgusted with the judging I gave up. I think the straw that broke me was the Bradley-Pacquiao fight probably 10 years ago. Everyone I knew, talked to, or watched on TV just sat with their chin on the floor when they announced 2 of 3 for Bradley. I don't know if I've watched 5 fights (boxing) in the last 10 yrs.

Has it gotten any better?

Kinda like pro wrestling without the furniture throwing.

For the most part, I'd say it has. I usually agree with decisions at least 95% or more.

But occasionally, it's kinda like judges are in the twilight zone or sumthin'... :anyone:

Since we are on the subject of scoring, back when I watched Pro basketball I would see several instances of the scoreboard on the TV screen not adding the points that were just made. I don't know if it is a thing the scorekeepers did or a flat shaving off points during the middle of a basketball game.
Several instances were in sports bars and my eyesight not being what it once was I just chalked it up to that. Those instances made me aware of the occurrence and while watching at home I watched for the same thing and saw them do it several times. The scoring is controlled by a controller by a human and sometimes they don't get it right.

Has anyone else noticed this scoring discrepancy in basketball?
