That's the beauty of the American dream though isn't it? People are in control of their own destiny. Living in poverty at $110k yearly income is a choice a person lives with. There a lot of affordable country to live cheaper.

Shhhh! We want those people in NYC and DC to stay right where they are.

But you won't get those great government jobs that offer mostly zero work and great benefits. You just have to show up.

I am going to say that after the gun buying frenzy and people waking up the the right to bare arms and 2 years of driving the economy into the toilet the vote is going to swing back right..... At least that is my hope and I am sticking to it! :grumble:

No offense but the last election proved that our votes do not count. The democrats got away with massive fraud, and will use it going forward since no one stopped them. Add to it the massive lines of illegals streaming across our southern border daily now with the biden admin stating, its our policy to allow this.

He knows nothing apparently. I work a lot and for the Gov.
I worked for the Federal Government as well as a GS-7 after the military. I wasn't speaking without knowledge.
There are a lot of government jobs that do require a lot of work, but I danged sure worked around some that just drew a paycheck and didn't deserve it.

When I worked contract at Tinker, I quickly got away from the civilian side of the base to the military side. Far less politics, and the people would get court marshaled if they didn't do their jobs :D, and everyone wasn't related some how...

Yeah, the nepotism and falling back on the gov union regs to get out of work was pretty rampant.

I had to check to see if I was living in poverty.

A measure of income issued every year by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Federal poverty levels are used to determine your eligibility for certain programs and benefits, including savings on Marketplace health insurance, and Medicaid and CHIP coverage.

The 2021 federal poverty level (FPL) income numbers below are used to calculate eligibility for Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). 2020 numbers are slightly lower, and are used to calculate savings on Marketplace insurance plans for 2021.

  • $12,880 for individuals
  • $17,420 for a family of 2
  • $21,960 for a family of 3
  • $26,500 for a family of 4
  • $31,040 for a family of 5
  • $35,580 for a family of 6
  • $40,120 for a family of 7
  • $44,660 for a family of 8
Federal Poverty Level amounts are higher in Alaska and Hawaii. See all HHS poverty guidelines for 2021.

How federal poverty levels are used to determine eligibility for reduced-cost health coverage
  • Income between 100% and 400% FPL: If your income is in this range, in all states you qualify for premium tax credits that lower your monthly premium for a Marketplace health insurance plan.
  • Income below 138% FPL: If your income is below 138% FPL and your state has expanded Medicaid coverage, you qualify for Medicaid based only on your income.
  • Income below 100% FPL: If your income falls below 100% FPL, you probably won’t qualify for savings on a Marketplace health insurance plan or for income-based Medicaid.
And how much is the Infrastructure bill at 3.5 Trillion, $24,475.52 per each taxpaying American.
