If anyone gets a response wanting you to send a reply to an email IT IS MOST LIKELY A SCAM. Report it to us immediately.

yes, I haven’t been reporting so I will do that, but that is what I was getting at. I’m not emailing someone on their personal email when we have a perfectly good messaging system on OSA

I took a chance the other day on a new member to buy two rifles. I’m in Guymon and drove all the way to Sieling to meet him halfway.

I was lucky and the drive was worth it. He was there early. The only downside was while he was waiting on me to get there he went in to get a cup of coffee and locked his keys in his car.

met with two other members around the same time so things ended up working out. By the time his car got unlocked i was finishing up a trade with @HoLeChit and the purchase went smooth.

I agree with you though. If these new guys aren’t gonna contribute to the community then the classifieds needs to be limited to just the actual established members.

I haven’t seen him post in the other threads though so that’s kind of a bummer. He has positive feedback from me though. @ForsakenConservative

Yep they are more times than not from a GMAIL account.

Its worse now that Armslist stared charging for their service. They have all come over here to OSA
Send us the info. AL was mostly by email. That’s what they think they need to do. Report them and I’ll send a pm to let them know we typically don’t do business that way.

I think it goes beyond just that. I've noticed a major increase in classified users - across numerous forums - with the covid/political demand increase. Like anything else, as the user-base grows the bad apples increase. Realistically, the only way to offset that is by limiting access; unfortunately, the long term effect of limiting access is fewer users to the point that participation is almost pointless. It just dries up.

I think the best solution I've seen enacted on other forums is paying members access only. That helps but never fully solves the issue.

I don’t see that happening in the near future. Report any email requests to us. We’ll review them on a as needed basis

Just so everyone knows I wasn’t saying we needed to make a pay to use system or even that we need to make a new system. Mainly just letting people know so existing members are cautious and new members get why people are so hesitant to work with the them.
