Looked up the BB on my 2010 Chevy PU and it has actually increased in value from when I bought it a year ago. What prompted me was the guys talking on a Chevy forum about truck prices going crazy. Never had a used vehicle increase in value during the time I owned it. Crazy world...

The only time i ever made money on a used vehicle was when my little GMC S-15 got hit on the LF fender and bumper and the insurance company totaled it and gave me double what i paid for it cause i said i wanted to keep the truck cause it was still drivable just had a hair lip on the bumper, and still own it to this day and that was 8 years ago.

My dad once had a 90 Ford 1 ton Dually with a diesel, the good diesel engine & a 5 spd trans,
(This was before we became educated & renounced everything ford)
I remember he paid 10,000 for it when he bought it, he drove it as a work truck for 4 years, sold it for 10,900. & it had about 45,000 more miles on it at that time.
After he sold it he bought a 96 Dodge Ram with the Cummins & a 5 spd trans & we have never looked back. He still has the 96.

My Dad bought a used, low mileage, 2007 Silverado 2500HD in 2009 when GM was filing for bankruptcy and got such a good deal on it, that in current condition, it still books for more now than he paid for it then.

Went with my son to a half dozen new-car
dealerships a few weeks ago. I can't believe the slim pickings on their used inventory. Thin to virtually nothing. That's really weird. Never seen this before. That market must be smoking hot right now.

Bought my wife a 07 Cobalt dealer demo car with 4kmiles for 10,500 and and a couple of years later in a gas price spike they were bringing 13,500 under 50k. Begged her to sell it but NNOOOOO.

My old 01 Cummins I paid 10,900 with 156k in 2005 and could have sold sold it five, ten or fifteen years later for the same 10k. I still see every once in a while people asking 10k for them 17yrs later. Now that's what I call driving for FREE. 290k now and STILL hauling the mail.

I don't believing in making a living to pay for a pickup. I believe in it working and making a living for me.

Inflation
Exactly.

And artificial lack of supply caused by the mandatory .gov shutdowns.

And I will add, you haven’t seen inflation like we will experience with Biden and his spending habits.

The value of the dollar is getting ready to be worth a lot less.
