I usually stay at that Stoney Creek hotel right there by Oklahoma Joe's when I'm in the area for work. Maybe I've had bum luck but the few times I've gone there for lunch it's been marginal at best.

I might be a bit spoiled though. I take regular trips to Durant for work, and Main Street Barbecue there always deliveries some fantastic food. If you're ever in the area, they are definitely worth a visit.
Gotta agree with you on it being marginal. You're being kind IMHO.
Also agree with you on Main St Barbecue in Durant!!

Don’t know how far outside BA you want to go -- Luke’ BBQ on HWY 51 towards Coweta; about 7 miles from Reasor’s in BA.

Never ate there, but a guy I work with, brings it in all the time (he doesn’t want to share -- there isn’t any leftovers) -- Drive by all the time when I go to the Gun Range.

On HWY 51; a bit past the traffic signal at Oneta Road -- Orange building on your left (North side of the highway) -- Sign reads Meats and More -- If you see the large propane tanks; you have gone to far !!!!

Its never the food; its always the family and friends !!!!!!!
Smokies is pretty good but Lukes is up there with the best ribs and chopped beaf I've ever had in this area.

We had zero issues with Smokies today. The ribs were cooked perfectly, brisket was fork tender yet didn’t fall apart, pulled pork and chicken were perfect. The smoke was light just the way we like it.
Beans were good, not outstanding. I’d like to see them add some finely shredded pork and onion to the beans but that’s just me and my desires.
The “hot” BBQ sauce was just spicy enough that most folks could use it.
Asked for pickup at 2:30, got there at 2:25. Called for curbside pickup and was told the order was being assembled. Knew then it hadn’t been sitting under a warming heater for who knows how long.
We will certainly eat there again.

Sounds like the place we'll try next time we're up there!

Be careful. With all that in your belly you might become bloated and lethargic. Mrs.Hoddy will send you to the couch or RV as soon as she hears a rumbling coming from your direction

Well, I’m a lot of things but a liar ain’t one of them. It has been 3-4 years, so maybe they’ve added real brisket now? If so, I’d be willing to try them again. Like I said, their pork and sausage stuff was good to great. Just being a stubborn Texan, a bbq joint better do brisket and well. Brisket is king!
I’ve got a brother-in-law who probably eats there once a week or so and they love it.

I know, that's why I said I'm not calling you one. Just want to make sure that point came across.

And I know people will drop their rib with a "WTF" look on their face, but I'll take smokies to Burnco any day of the week. Just not a fan of how much char is on Burnco's meat. Add that in with their long wait times... yeah. The meat is good, once I scrape the char off. That is just my personal preference though.

For the record she is already in the guest bedroom and I’m relegated to the recliner it appears as we are out of town
Crop dusted her a couple of times this evening and she wasn’t happy about it.

Be prepared to wait if you go there during lunch; they don't have a lot of indoor seating to begin with, and "social distancing means they only have four or five tables going. If they have the back patio open, that helps a lot.
