Sincere questions... I have had experience with other's firearms over the years, and they have been happy with their equipment. I'm not against the idea, and may be in the market for one, but I want some current opinions from those of you that have them.

What caused you to want one in the first place, and is it worth the time and expense? Or, is it just another gimmick like we all jump into?

I've been sitting at the COPS Koski 3 different times with 800 cash in hand to get one, but that wait keeps me from pulling the trigger. Other than end of world stuff, I can't think of a reason to get one other than the coolness factor.

I want one bad, but the wait kills me. I'm extremely impatient.

I have a 308 suppressor, a 22 suppressor, and a 45 suppressor. Are they needed, no, do they make range time more pleasant, yes. The 22 suppressor on my Ruger 22/45 pistol is probably the most fun. I will say I rarely shoot any of my ARs unsuppressed now. The 45 suppressor is just a range toy for me, and it was my longest wait time at over a year.

I bought my 308 suppressor to go along with my 300 blackout SBR. Definitely figure out what you want out of a suppressor first and do your research. I bought my 22 suppressor because If you are going to jump down the NFA rabbit hole you have to get a 22 suppressor because they are the closest to movie quiet that you can get.

Check out pewscience.com

They are an independent sound testing company that has been putting out more accurate sound reduction ratings for different suppressors.

I have a 5.56 YHM and 7.62 AAC suppressor. I probably should've just bought the 7.62 AAC first to keep from having another one just for 5.56 and below.

I was lucky and bought before it started taking so stinking long . . . at least for the YHM suppressor. It only took like 3 months. The AAC took almost a year or longer.

Both do the job and work well. Glad I have them. The AAC made my 6.5 Grendel sound like a 22 . . .

Excellent responses. My brother is wanting one, due to the same reasons several of you guys have indicated, mainly to hunt without ear protection and still hear the surrounding noises. Thanks, I think he is about ready to "pull the trigger" and put down some cash!
I would love to have one or three but besides the price of the suppressor I just can't make myself pay that dang $200 tax!

C'mon man! This is America! [emoji3]
