If the Feds really wanted to throw a wrench in the works, all they have to is withhold Federal Money from 2A Sanctuary states. Want help repairing those roads? Need Federal money for (pick one)_____________ Project? Try wishing in one hand and pooping in the other and see which one fills up first.

The answer to that is toll booths on all state line major highways and we can get that money back

. Honestly, do we really need federal funds? It's their roads and they can repair or build them and if we don't get federal funding, we can't support illegals or welfare cheats-they'll leave.

D. The preemption provided in this act shall include:
1. Any regulation of arms and ammunition, pursuant to the
National Firearms Act of 1934, prohibited or regulated on or after
the effective date of this act; and
2. Any regulations or provision of the Gun Control Act of 1968,
prohibited or regulated on or after the effective date of this act.

Can someone explain this in plain English please? Are they pre-empting the NFA and GCA or just saying that any changes since then are pre-empted? Or something else entirely?

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe preemption in this case means that existing laws (NFA & GCA) are the final authority when in conflict with state law. SB631 will apply to federal restrictions not yet enacted.

That's how I read it. Does anything in this preclude them from requiring registration?

My nonlegal opinion is yes it does prevent our state from participating in registration because registration is not yet (officially) federal law or part of delegated bureaucratic authority. How these "sanctuary bills" play out in reality is another discussion.
