Hey! My little Mini Bike can't be climbing 100 foot sand dunes! Is there a suitable putt-put area for me, a broken down old Jarhead, to motor sedately about whilst those of you with fancy schmancy 4-wheelers and Moto-Scooters roar up and down the dunes?

I went to Little Sahara when I was High School on some field trip or something. A camel spit on me.
Oh yeah, your pit bike can blaze around the campground and out on the dunes actually with the balloon tires I'd think. The entrances are a bit rough but the sand smooths out after leaving the gate area. You wouldn't want to go much further than that. Drag racing right outside of the South Gate to be entertained by.
I've been going there since being the boy scouts when we camped out there. The camels were there until the early 80's if I remember right. Some tree hugger lawyer from Tulsa came for the weekend, determined the buggy's and atv's were too loud, damaging the ears of the camels, so they were removed after a lawsuit to a refuge.
You can also ride the tails beside the highway going into Waynoka to eat at the restaurants. When getting into town, one must only ride where the yellow stripes are in the road center. It takes one past gas stations, restaurants, and what little shopping there is.
Its 1600 acres of trails. There is a perimeter road around the outside that is an easy ride in a ATV. Not sure about a mini bike. That would be a challenge. Good thing about it, you won't get stuck. Get off, pick up, move over and start over.
Heck, I'd let you putt around on my 4 wheeler. Auto transmission. Its a cadillac ride. The three wheeler with paddle tires is my ride of choice there. I like the challenge of the big dunes.

I don't know of any trails with padded walls and floors.

Lugert lake riding area would be more suitable unless you visited Little Sahara during a weekday. Even then it will feel like entering a rifle match with a pocket pistol.

Little sahara is pretty much dead during the week. That's when I go. Always the idiot around just like anywhere else, but it's not hard to get away from them. Typically no charge during the week either if the park service folks aren't at the gates. $10
Kaw lake has a decent trail system, but it's pretty small. No sand, just rock and dirt.
Edit: Sometimes the crowds aren't too bad to have around at Little Sahara. We were watching a 900 hp sand rail jumping dunes getting 20' of air. He finally broke an axle. A half dozen big ol boys hung on the off side while he was pulled in by another rail to keep the broken one out of the sand.

I told him not to be running that thing in the garage without cracking the door first. I think he just likes the smell :pms2:

Naw, it's the gettin' dizzy part after going around in a real tight circle as fast as that darn little thing will carry me and a bottle of Old Yellow Knife that's fun.. After I get all wound up, tighter than a garage door spring, I just stumble back in to the computer and moderate you guys on OSA. After all, someone has to be "The Voice of Reason".

I don’t know if they’ll allow motorbikes, but the Sutton Wildlife Refuge in Norman (west side of 12th Ave NE, just south of Rock Creek Road) used to have a decent wooded path.

Thank you Sir; I will inquire as to such.

Where does the AAA batteries go in?

In the flashlight, so they can more easily search for the body.
