My doctor warned me not to be taking a stroll in Lawton at night...

... unless in a well-lit area. I just had an appointment with him yesterday at the VA Clinic on post. He was talking with me about getting exercise. I'm 57 and need to shed some pounds. I told him I like to walk around my block at night or early in the morning to beat the summer heat. He said good but not be in dark areas. I told him I had a flashlight. Was he worried about me tripping in the dark, getting hit by a car or being a crime victim? Of course, I didn't tell him I have Mr. Smith & Mr. Wesson for my own security. He didn't ask me about owning guns anyway. It's none of their damm business. I'm glad I see others around the neighborhood with German shepherds. It adds some peace of mind. Oklahoma's relatively-new Constitutional Carry law puts my mind at ease too. It makes the bad guys guess at who might be armed. I figure many more law-abiding people around here will now have a good incentive to carry and carry more often. America's safest states, statistically speaking, are CC.

Its real simple and works like this. Take a herd of polled cattle and pour out a sack of feed in a trough. Then get ready for the biggest pushing and shoving match you ever seen as the stronger ones try to bully the others for an extra bite and push the smaller ones out of the way.

Now pour out that same sack of feed for a herd of all horned cattle. Everyone comes to the table real polite like. respectable, eats what is in front of them and leaves.

The pushing, shoving, bullying and BS is gone when everyone in the herd is armed. Even cattle are smart enough to understand It just isn''t worth it for a bite or two.

Not that it matters to a criminal, but keep in mind that "constitutional" carry also allows them to go armed as well.
Indeed it does not matter to criminals, they're armed anyway. Like the old adage says, "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns." BTW, that could read "Where guns are outlawed" just as easily.

But in Oklahoma (and similar states), the intended victim might just kill 'em graveyard dead. I don't believe a better crime deterrent exists.

Here, but occasionally There.
Was that an issue for them before?

Quite true, but can they not carry legally now?

I have two german shepherd puppies that aren't fully grown yet (almost 8 months) and I find it quite humorous the level of deterrent they are to people in general. Knowing that they are big ol' cuddly teddy bears. But also Glock it up just in case :D
