Never hunted hogs, which will probably be obvious by this question. After browsing around on hog hunting for most of the night, I see lots of people on eradication missions, killing dozens a night apparently at the request farmers and ranchers. And then I see ads for hog hunts where they are charging people $700 for the privilege of killing one.

So, in Oklahoma, how does it look? Can you find landowners around here that want them killed? Or do people actually pay to shoot them? I don't understand paying to shoot what seem to be destructive pests.

With decent ammo, do you guys think 223 is OK for hogs? The guy in the video, in another video, seems to say it would
I see several hogs killed with the .223. I run 77 grain SMK in my .223. It isn't my first choice, but sometimes I have to take buddy guns.

Other than a helicopter hunt, I haven't paid to hunt pigs in 20 years. I get contacted by landowners about killing hogs a few times a year and have even been tipped pretty good for killing piles of hogs.

Here’s one I got on cell camera and did a 400 yard stalk to get the shot, and my 9.3x74r did the job efficiently. I even got the bullet impact on camera.
