Bless your heart, people like you keep my wife busy.
No, it's people like me who are trying to fix the damage done by doctors kneejerk prescribing antibiotics for every paper cut. Nine times out of ten, these boils are caused by MRSA, which is a bacterium that has come about as a direct result of overprescribing antibiotics. And for some reason that's literally beyond comprehension, the medical establishment seems to think that the only solution is to prescribe yet more antibiotics even in cases where the body is doing a good job on its own. Furthering the resistance of the bacteria, while simultaneously reducing the effectiveness of the few antibiotics we have left that are still effective against it. Which is a sure death sentence for those are elderly or infirm and have chronic MRSA infections that their compromised bodies haven't been able to isolate into a nice, neat little boil like happens with us young healthy folks.

If your body is doing a fine job on its own, let it. You'll be doing yourself and somebody else a big favor!

I had a fiddleback bite a while back, I think I was 19. Was on my shoulder. Thought it was an ingrown hair until one day about a week after I noticed it while digging at it I had blood and black pus running down my arm. Girlfriend at the time was a nurses assistant, and said "You need to go to the doctor". I wasnt convinced, but that night my body told me it was time. Some of the worst pain i have ever felt, my body felt like it was tearing itself apart. Went to the ER that morning, turns out I had a primary infection about 6" around the bite, and had a secondary infection that went down to my elbow and up to my earlobe. Doctor cut me open and drained everything out, ended up fitting about 3 feet of packing into my shoulder, looked like thick yarn. Said that if I had waited a few more days I might have lost my arm, or at least use of it. Pulled the packing out a few days later, and it eventually healed up. I now have a 1/2" scar that looks a lot like a smallpox scar, with a hollow spot under it. Fiddleback bites are no joke, that's for sure.

Careful, this might compromise MRSA/Boil theories we have up in here....

Update.

Thanks for checking on me fellas I really appreciate it!

Couldn't get into my doc so I went to a clinic.
PA there took one look and said you were lucky not to have symptoms and those pain steroids helped bring it to a head. She got a little blood out but no more puss.
She squeezed some antibiotic ointment and an Rx for some horse pills twice a day for ten days. She said let it get some air and use a hot pad to keep it draining. She said don't use peroxide anymore it could interfere with the healing process.

I like this new Mercy clinic at Rockwell and NW Highway. I just gave them my DL, Medicare card and Mastercard. I didn't have to fill out anything except my signature on the HIPAA form.

It's not a theory. At least not in the sense you're using the word. And a genuine necrotizing spider bite is far different from a simple boil, and would most definitely warrant some medical attention and possibly (gasp) antibiotics. Those are extremely rare, though. Fiddleback bites are rare to begin with, and most people don't react much to them. When people get boils they automatically claim it's a spider bite, partly because it makes it less embarrassing, so most boils are falsely attributed to fiddleback bites. 99.9% of the time it's MRSA and a simple boil, vs. the rare case of a horrific spider bite like what he described.
