I’m not a fan. I already drive a lot, even if we use the Oregon example of 1.8 cents per mile I’ll be out of $450 a year, and that’s before starting my own business, which could add an additional $200 per year in road use taxes alone.

how are people gonna make it work, esp small businesses? Start charging a mileage fee for even short in town trips?

That would be about $1200 for myself, wife and daughter per year.

Isn't that pretty much what the current gasoline tax already does? The more you drive, the more you pay.
It's to tax the electric vehicles which don't pay gas tax basically. Only problem is it will double tax gas cars, but that's a bonus in their book.

Well they going to get RICH off of me i think i may drive 10 miles a week during the spring,summer and fall and maybe 2 miles a week during the winter.

I don't see how this can work unless you give the gov access to your car's computer to track you. And I know that's already happening with insurance companies, etc., but at least it's voluntary (they say).

This will punish rural and suburban people. Working people mostly.
