I hope you are being sarcastic.
Nope, He admitted to breaking the law. Ya'll can cry and snivel all you want about how unconstitutional it is, AND I agree with that; but unless people are willing to pull the trigger and fight for the rights that have been withered away, then the point is moot.

All I can say is SAD.

Did he say he was not an FFL? It's possible he's a dealer or pawn shop owner or has a license and flips guns as a side business, and checks garage sales, or just happens to ask about guns when he's at one for whatever reason. If he said he is flipping them and doesn't have a license he admitted to breaking the law, but just because he didn't mention a license doesn't mean he doesn't have one.

I should probably go back and read the OP and see if that's mentioned, but I don't remember and I'm too lazy to check. :rollingla

OP's initial comments didn't say anything about the "customer" saying he had an FFL.

Thought this was too good to pass up. The wife and I decided to have a garage sale today. Inadvertently I put out some firearm related items like ammo cans and an optic for sale which signaled some folks to ask if I had any guns/ammo for sale.

One person in particular approached and asked, so I brought out the firearms I was selling. We chat, he asks what I want for them one by one, making various facial expressions as he inspects them, and then moving on to the next one.

After he checked out all of the firearms he looks me dead in the eyes and says that firearm A and B are good prices but that firearm C is way too much. He then says "at that price, I can't make any money on it, that's just how it is, you know?" Then, without any response on my part, he hands me it back, tells me how he buys guns all over the place and shops hundreds of garage sales, and leaves.

Not sure if I should be offended if someone says the quiet part out loud or if I should be thankful for his honesty
It was a bargaining tactic.
He was hoping you would fall to your knees and beg him to take all of them for practically nothing.

So he could have an FFL and just didn't say either way. If that's the case, he did not admit to a crime.
That's entirely possible, but what he's doing doesn't sound like what an FFL would be doing, and most FFLs have better business sense than to bring up the resale side.

There was a Dilbert cartoon where the pointy hair boss says to a group of customers "And we have the highest profit margins in the industry!"
Somebody whispers in his ear and he says, Apparently I wasn't supposed to say that.
