Looks like we might face similar shortages as we have seen for rifle and pistol calibers. Academy put out very small pallets (unlike the huge pallets of 12 and 20ga)of the good old promo dove loads at $69/flat. The supply vanished in a matter of days.

Has anyone heard news about ammo supply for us scatter gunners? Rogers has been my go to for steel waterfowl loads….. but so far they haven’t had much.

looks like it will be a see it and buy it type of fall

It's out there. I've been snatching non toxic loads up whenever I find them. Cabelas keeps having Hevi Hammer #3's for ship to store and I've been on them. Apex has decent priced 3" #2's in stock and they patterned well. Ammo seek is your friend during these times.

Bass Pro and Cabelas has a bunch of 3.5" loads in stock and online. 3" get snatched pretty quick.

Depending on what repeat you read, it's getting better, worse or the same. I anticipate it's going to get worse. I should be good for 3-4 seasons right now.

Academy has been decent for dove loads. I picked up a couple of flats 20 gauge 1oz and some 12 Guage 1 1/8oz remington stuff. I've been searching for it online and getting it at the various stores. Little driving, but I won't have any issues killing birds because of no lead for awhile

I’ve been tinkering with a couple shotguns this week, and it’s inspired me to fire up my old 12 ga MEC Sizemaster and load a few rounds. My powder and primers are old, but all the rounds I tested went bang and cycled my Benelli.
Like rifle and pistol ammo, I will leave the shotgun ammo to y’all to fight over, because I should be good for quite a while.

I've had to learn to stalk ammoseek.com, since the panic started, for the assorted ammo I need. You just can't rely on local stores to have what you need anymore. Hopefully that will change for the better, but time will tell.

I have a case of high brass Winchester 7 1/2 that I bought for dove last year but didn't get to go. This year have no place to go too probably going to sell the case.

$69/case is a really decent price (considering the times), because the cheapest on Ammoseek is $87.50/case.

The cost per case of my reloads is under $30, because I bought the components years ago. However, this really isn’t accurate since the same components are scarce to nonexistent and if found have radically increased in price, so my reloads are “worth” whatever current market value is. I have to continually remind myself that just because I have ammo and components still doesn’t make indiscriminate “plinking” prudent.
